Can folks who have the factory oval running boards post a photo? Trying to decide on a step. Thanks.

I also wanted the oval steps in the beginning. Get the light weight aluminum TRD running boards.

Here are the oem factory oval steps. Different angles, different lighting. Hope it helps.

Was about to post a picture of my white Tundra and the OEM oval running boards but ToyoTundra89s truck looks cooler than mine with those meaty tires.

Will add that it took about 12 mins to install the running boards. The bolts are already attached to the truck in the mounting holes don't go looking in the box for them like I did.

Many thanks. Looks great. I’m going to go for a set. Just installed a go rhino RB10 slim and it’s not my cup of tea. Factory stuff seems to always look good. Thanks.

what made you change your mind? I’m deciding between trd and oem steps. I really like the predators, but wife doesn’t care for them

TRD wheels, skid plate, black fender flares, mud flaps and running boards. Pirelli Scorpion 275/70/20 Allterrain Plus tires
TRD aluminum boards also offer addition paint protection from rocks thrown up from behind front tires.

Nothing really, I just like the look of the TRD steps. I personally do not like predators.

Interesting you ask, I have just been hosing them down, you really cannot use a towel on it.

But they look perfectly clean after a hose down. Had them covered in mud multi pile times, and a quick hose down takes care of it.

I,figured no towel due to the “line x” finish. This may be a positive…. The ovals would require a towel wipe down after whereas the trd are just wash and go

Has anyone had the trd running boards through a couple north east winter’s? I’ve yet to find a set that the paint/coating lasts in the salt. My Tacoma has the Toyota plastic covered ones and they’re great at holding up. The tundra Trd ones are over $1600 Canadian

I would think the trd would hold up fine? It’s basically “line x”.

my 2012 Nissan has the plastic covered style (not quite the same, but more or less yes) and they’ve held up for over a decade in the prairies.

only rust I had was on the brackets (steel not alloy) and if I was a bit more, carefull with crud build up I’d be ok.

Been through one midwest winter with TRD cast aluminum, ran through automatic wash once a week and they look new. Winter salt has destroyed every other painted steel step I have ever owned or seen on other trucks. One winter may not be enough to know how these will hold up.

TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
These have been through an Ohio winter. I put a ceramic coating over them which helps keep them looking new.

thanks for the replies. When I buy my new tundra, if I have the steps installed before delivery they get the 3 year warranty but if I buy them as an accessory after the fact I get just 1 year. Usually by year 2-3 is when my steps in the past start to really corrode.

buildin, usually around the step pads where slat creeps in.

My truck came with the Predator steps but they don't work well for my wife. Wish I would have gone another style.
