Wondering if any of you running 35’s on factory rims used spacers ?
    Pros/cons?

Have 23 Platinum in which I kept the OEM wheels. Swapped tires with 35x11.5x20 Nitto Recons. Was going to put a leveling kit on but canceled once tires went on. Still wanted it to fit in garage. Swapped out lug nuts and center caps. Tires gave me the height/look I wanted. I had/have no rubbing but still added 1" spacers to widen stance.

Cons: tires are 10ply so gas mileage suffers but knew that/didn't care.
-stiffer ride but not bad in my opinion.
-with the spacers I had to put mud flaps on for the mud sling. Will be adding Pro flares to add more protection.
That's it and am satisfied. Had initial plans to do lift, tires, wheels but saved $$ not doing it. $$ saved will be put to other mods.

Running 285-65-20 on factory wheels with a 1 inch bora spacer. I wanted it flush and the 1 inch spacer provided it

I expect the biggest Con is fuel efficiency. What kind of MPG are people getting with 35's? I expect close to a 3MPG hit.

I’m averaging 16 driving very conservatively.

if using the 7-8% difference from display to real mileage, then around 16.5 for me as a combined city/highway.
Consistently for the past year. 11,000 miles.

@matth66 Looks like you're piloting a TRD PRO, so you're suspension setup is different. The stock pro can fit 35's no problem. Evidenced by the many visitors of this fine establishment. Also, see below....

From what i've read if you have the trd black 20" they can work with the 35x12.5 as they are 20x 8.5 sized rim.

I was getting between 16/17 not driving it hard. Last trip ti GA I decided to use 93 octane and mileage improved to little over 19. Not bad. Thats 65-75 mph. Is it worth the extra cost-I don't know but probably will continue.

Was there a reasoning on needing the spacers because of rubbing or just aesthetics?

Aesthetics, I only started rubbing after the spacers were installed and ended up removing the mud flaps and pushed the fender liner in.

I've been getting 18.5MPG average on stock 32" tires with mostly city driving. On the highway I get around 20MPG (80+ MPH), 22MPG (70+ MPH), or 24MPG (60 MPH). I tend to go as fast as the speed limit allows (plus a little extra) so I don't seem to mind paying for a shorter (time wise) trips. It is cool to poke along at 60MPH and see how high the MPG will go but I typically only do that on short trips.

Judging by what people are reporting I'm figuring that the 35" tires cost about 2.5MPG.

Did you do any other modifications or is it completely stock aside from the wheel spacers? Is yours the regular 4X4 without any of the TRD Packages?

I imagine you got your answer by now, but yes they will fit. I am on 35x11.50, and plenty of others have 35x12.50 on pros

Bro I would love to see your vehicle data on your fuel economy numbers. I have a frequent 30 mile commute on open highway at 75 miles per hour with a stock Tundra on stock tires with the cruise control engaged. Most often I get in the left lane and never have to touch the brakes. I've never seen a fuel economy number above 17.5 at the end of drive summary like yours. Apparently I have a malfunctioning truck if I'm missing out on and extra 4.5 mpg that you're achieving.

Am I the only one with the shitty fuel economy? I drove a 2006 DblCab before this 23 Crewmax and figured the fuel economy I was getting seemed normal.

Those of you with 35's, have you checked your sway bar? I was having enough contact that I was rubbing a small spot of paint off.

1" spacers and 2" of front lift solved the problem.

Just curious it if it was just me.

I'm on 37s on stock 20s with 3" of lift and just discovered my sway bar problem this past weekend. I thought I was rubbing the felt liner the whole time. I have some 1.5" on order that will hopefully take care of the problem.
