Talking to westcott about light bar mounts in the Pro grille. Jeff said they ran into issues during durability testing when mounting light bars using the surrounding mounting points. He said the grille started to crack after a while and that simply mounting a bracket to the perimeter spots wasn't enough. They're developing a mounting solution that will provide a vertical support strap bolting to a top and bottom grille shutter bolt. I'd wait and see what they release soon before buying anything like this or the Bajadesigns kit.

I'm waiting, since I already have a light bar and just want a mount.

And they offer amber. That’s pretty cool

The lenses for their light bars are like $4 a piece (that one takes 3 so $12) so they’re easy to swap out if you want to jump between amber/white or one of their different beam patterns too.

I think some companies offer different color LED's if you order a amber light bar or clear lens bar.

If you order a clear light bar that has 6000K (for example or higher color temp) LED's and put on an amber cover, going to have a green hue to it. Not the case for all companies but some do.

Seen it many times on Tacoma world when people put that lamin-x film over their upgraded LED fog lights

EDIT: also resulting in amber vs selective yellow

I wouldn't call that price affordable and unfortunately most of the lights we see today are made in china, but not all of them are garbage.

Yes! You’re correct. I did some digging and they have a video about it for their pods. so not a straight swap like I originally said.

Compared to other options this is absolutely affordable - and made in America.

Yeah I’d say diode dynamics is one of the most affordable/Quality (Quality in terms of how they are made and how they operate) off-road lighting companies. They aren’t just hammering out the brightest lights they possibly can and marking them up.

the only light I have been happy with from Diode Dynamics is their SS3 Pro Fog pattern, all other SS3 PRO patterns of theirs I have tested (driving, combo, flood) are not really suitable for my needs, the build quality is on par with other lights I have tested.

I’ll never give YotaGarage business. They tried buying up the TRD items, mainly the pro grille and charging double.

all I am saying is where it is made is irrelevant to the quality of the product. There are good products and trash/garbage regardless of where it's made. Most of the time tho, price is a good gauge of quality but not always.

Thanks for introducing this concern to us. Something to note, Our TRD Pro Grill Light bar kit (SKU:448078) does come with a horizontal support bracket to limit the movement and has had no issues to this date. Is there any way you can provide any more information regarding this?

Hey Taco-Spike, Baja Designs has noted this and is one of the only lighting companies that offer a 5000k Daylight Color Temperature Rating. This allows you to retain the best optimal output color as well as limit eye fatigue. In addition to this, we offer a fully serviceable light using uService, which allows you to swap lenses on the go.

Sure can! I didn't see this tag either... :notsure: These just dropped and caught us off guard as well. Working on building out the listings. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us here at Hotshot Offroad if you're in the hunt for these new DD kits. I'll drop some listings here once we get them done as well.

I made my own brackets similar to what BD is offering but for the TRD Pro knockoff light bar. I haven't seen Jeff's brackets, I'm not part of the testing with their designs unfortunately. He just saw my bracket and offered his personal experience.

Edit: his original comment was in response to BD's bracket that someone posted about. That's how the conversation originally started.
