My 9707s is coming today. This will be my first stereo install. I’ve done my research but a little nervous. Any input on this radio or tips for install? I’m doing this first then gonna get and install a tech 12 volts set up when I get more cash.

Take your time with the harness. Make it as compact and tidy as possible as it’s a tight fit behind the HU of you’re using a Maestro unit. Soldered and heat-shrink > butt splices.

You may want to consider running your RCAs now if you’ll be upgrading the rest of your system down the road and want to avoid pulling the HU back out when you add your amp(s).

Take your time aligning and adjusting the dash trim piece to get a uniform and flush fit.

Thanks for the reply and good advice. I will definitely run my RCAs now if I won’t have to pull stereo out again to add amp and speakers

What harness brand did you wind up going with ? It looks like you probably have the JBL system ?

Its going sh***y right now bad instructions a lot of freakin wires.Probably gonna take it in and have it done by a pro. Everything was going good til I got to the maestro with all the wires that came with that combined with the ready harness. Pretty confusing. I cant seem to find any good videos or directions.Had it all hooked up I thought connected battery turned on ignition and no green light on maestro,no power to HU and warning light on dash saying air bag malfunction. Gonna try and hook up stock and hope warning light goes off and take it to a pro unless I can figure it out pretty quick. I feel dumb but I guess electrical was never my strong point.

Might be easier to drop the stock unit back in and troubleshoot the harness(s)on a work bench or something.
I put my Maestro RR2 behind the passenger side dash panel, easier to pop the cover off that than pulling the HU to re flash it.
Air bag light will go away when ya plug the climate controls back in.

I’m at work now. Couldn’t sleep. Gonna take another crack at it when I get off. Thanks Azboathauler I feel better now climate control is unplugged so that was probably the warning ⚠️.

Dont get intimated about all the wiring. Once you have it all in, you'll be glad you did it yourself and save some money.

Ok so I got music! No backup camera, no wireless car play and no gps. My dash says im out of gas but I have full tank. Im just figuring out the OBDII plug, didnt know where to plug it in but I guess its under the steering wheel? Also I have some other cables I need to connect. I have two different back up camera cables I think. I got tire pressure and engine stuff on kenwood, also the steering wheel controls work. Needed to rest my back now Im back at it lol.

Gas gauge working now. No gps or wireless CarPlay. Here’s pictures of cables I have left and how I have hooked up. Any advice?

You need to check you head unit settings to make sure the reverse interrupt camera option is turned on. If the option is selected check the purple/white wire on the harness.

For the wireless CarPlay, did you hook up the satellite antenna adapter and plug in the OEM connector to it?

Did your truck have navigation on the stock HU?

This looks like your GPS antenna connection right there.

Azboathauler you’ve been a big help. Backup camera working. I don’t have a cable that fits that little white rounded plug. I watched video online and the guy had that cable. So that cable plugs into little white plug the directly into Kenwood unit where it says gps?

You can just 2x side tape the Kenwood puck facing up inside the dash, as long as theres no metal above it.
Thought that I didn’t need it since I was using GPS thru my phone but my DDX9907 still wanted it there.

You got it. The adapter will plug your truck GPS antenna into the GPS port in the HU.

This is also an option but there are reports of poor signal depending on placement.

Thanks. I do my best to avoid the bass boats since wake boats have a bad enough reputation. Are you in NV or CA? I haven’t boated Havasu yet but we might get there this year.

Ca. I used to have a trailer on the river in Mohave valley (near bullhead city) but I sold it. Havasu is a cool lake but can get crazy windy.

Hey Merko, I'm a little confused. Are you using the iDatalink Maestro harness or the one from Crutchfield? Ditch the damned Crutchfield one and only use the iDatalink TO2 harness. Dean at 5Star Car audio has an EXCELLENT video step by step on hooking up the TO2 harness to a Kenwood H/U in a Tundra. I watched this video a few times and it made installation an f'ng breeze!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhiMy1GPayE

Thanks for the reply. I got everything going now. I just need the sT02 connector for my stock gps. It should be here by Wednesday. In the meantime Im messing with Eq and stuff. Getting both harnesses really messed me up. At one point I had all the stuff mixed together and was like WTF
