    Guys,
Couple of days ago, I had a flat tire on my 2019 Tundra. As a side effect, a TPMS sensor was crushed. A nearby car shop was able to fix the punctuation, but they explained to me that b/c the sensor is in pieces (I saw that), it cannot be installed back and therefore they won't be able to inflate the tire as lack of such sensor will cause air leaks. They sounded convincing, charged me $160 for a new sensor, and told me that I need to drive a few miles until the TPMS calibrates. Obviously that didn't happen. I drove back, and asked them to fix that - that time they admitted that they don't have a computer capable of programming TPMS for Tundras 2018+ and all I have to do is go to the nearest Toyota dealer to program it.
Toyota tech stated that the sensor they put it is s a piece of crap and they can't do anything with it. He also stated that TPMS sensor (or lack of it) has nothing to do with air leaks / ability to inflate the tire. When I got back to the original car shop for refund, they turned it down stating that they charged me for a sensor, not for its programming.

I p**d! Please advise who is BS me?

Sounds like that shop bent you over. To the best of my knowledge, you can just put a standard rubber valve stem in. Also, I just delt with this on my wife's Venza. Took it to Discount tire, $60 per sensor installed and programed.

You were screwed. The least you can do is tell us the name of the shop.

And next time don't believe anything a shop tells you unless you have a good reason to trust them.

Dispute the charge on your credit card. They basically sold and installed a non compatible item for your truck.

    Alot of them
OEM sensors are about $68.00 average. They definitely got you there. I'm not sure about the 2018, but on the 2020's, you don't need to program the sensor. The truck recognizes it. As long as its a correct sensor, you do it yourself. They are definitely full of crap...there is no difference between a TPMS sensor and a regular valve stem when it comes to inflating a tire and holding pressure.

If the shop won't take the non functioning item back and issue a refund this is the route I'd take next.

Damn.... They got you. I also punctured my tire a long time ago, and drove 2 miles, maybe more I know I'm irresponsible, with a flat tire to a nearby tire shop. I watched them dismount the tire and remount the tire with no damage to the sensor. They haven't worked in years, and my idiot light is still on.
