I will preface by saying I don't care about increasing HP and my main objective is too add a little tone to the exhaust. I am on the fence between the two. I have read the DM is quiet, which is a solid plus, but I have read as the packing burns out they get loud and the overall construction is on the cheaper side. FM is solid construction but it might be a little on the louder side and could "drone". Anyone have experience w/ these on a Tundra?
    Thanks.

I'm in the "Flowmaster is for Ford or Chevy" group myself. If I just wanted sound I'd probably go with Borla.

I had mine done up with a Magnaflow a while back. It was fairly inexpensive and I like the sound.

Thought about the Borla Touring but $800 is a little steep. Even if it were cheaper I don't like our Borla exhaust on our shop vehicle - sounds like a boat.

Those Are both very tame mufflers. I ran an 18 inch magnaflow on my gen 1, horrible drone.

The i went to a 22 inch 5x11 magnaflow. Zero drone, little bit of noise when you rev it.

I had the dynomax 19330 cat back kit on my 2002 for about a year. The muffler is part #17748. I liked it, performed well and had just enough sound to know you’ve got a v8:D and no drone. I ultimately switched the muffler to a jones turbine, because I wanted a bit more sound.

You could also look at an Aero Turbine 2525XL. The XL is the resonated and pretty tame.

Not that it exactly relates to the thread and not that it exactly doesn't relate, but my exhaust just got louder, I swear. I don't know if running the intake to the cowl just helped the engine breathe or if it's the cold weather. My magnaflow knockoff is considerably louder. Yeah the intake is louder but I can tell the exhaust is also louder. I might need to run the aero turbine with about 3' more tailpipe. Right now it dumps under the cab and yeah I realize that could be part of the problem haha.

Tame is what I am after as working a swing shift would really piss off the neighbors if it got loud.

The 19330 kits supposedly doesn't fit a DC. Not sure what part of the system is different.

I think you would like the 5x11x22 magnaflow then. It gives a slight bump in tone but not that loud

I think the difference is the length of the resonator assembly/mid pipe. It should fit fine, because I’ve never seen a cat back kit designed for just the crew cab model. Contact Dynomax about fitment, and if worse comes to worse just have the super turbo muffler welded to your current piping.

Im surprised it hasnt been mentioned here, yet. The majority of the this group has gone with a @dirtydeeds exhaust. Reach out to Keith, super nice guy and willing to answer all your questions on picking whats right for you.

I have the non resonated version and at idle, it’s pretty darn quiet so I imagine the resonated version would even be more quiet. I believe this user commented in my other thread and has the 2525XL version.

He does make some more quiet versions. I think he offers a dual 12 inch into single outlet, then add the helmholtz resonator.

I guess it depends on how thick the walls are in your neighborhood. Im at the beach so they are pretty thin lol. My neighbors hear my 10 inch system at 4am :/

My neighbors tell me I’m there alarm clock. I leave at 6:15 and that’s when they get up! I have the 6 inch system. Lately open leaving at 6:05 and it’s screwed them all up ha ha Ha

I just took off a Dynomax Weld muffler which wasn't loud enough for me, but it was deep. It wasn't much louder than stock. Maybe you could try one of those? Depending on where you are I'd sell it to you.

The OEM 2002 muffler still has that nice deep blub blub blub sound at idle. Quiet at throttle, but not as quiet when brand new.

I like a quiet cab. Had a bad wheel bearing driving me nuts and not sure how you guys handle the drone or tin clap gas pack crap sound. Goof ball across the street has a Magnaflow and I’d love for him to get rid of it due to the obnoxious noise. Can’t say what I really think, but this will suffice.

Most performance mufflers focus on an increased exhaust note hence I am looking for a muffler in the minority. My personal V8 preference is a slight increase in most factory systems & I mean slight unless it a heavily modified engine. There are a couple vehicles in my neighborhood that sound like cr*p - all bark & no bite.

Back in 2003 I replaced my cracked exhaust manifolds on my 2002 with JBA shorties, the OEM muffler sounds even better with a deeper tone and I also love how quiet the Gen 1 cab is.

My 2007 is my 5.7L sport truck... the OEM exhaust system & cab have always been louder than my 2002 4.7L work truck. The '07 had kind of a buzzing sound under heavy throttle, but that was probably due to my makeshift dumped tail-pipe in front of the axle with OEM resonator attached modification necessitated by the lowered rear suspension.

In search of just a little more low end power and less buzzing I recently installed Keith's one of a kind custom creations, plus a tail-pipe that reaches beyond the axle this time. My 2007 now has a deep rumble at start up & WOT, it's buzz free and it's quieter than stock at idle & cruising. I guess the best description is that it has more of a muscle car sound when I hit the gas without ever being really loud and obnoxious, and it's drone free without the Helmholtz resonator installed. Driveability has improved, so I am a happy BAM Muffler customer.

I imagine that Keith could build exactly what the OP is looking for.
