    Fellow Tundra Owners:

Recently my left fog light went out. I was wondering what y'all would recommend as a replacement light bulb for a 2017 Tundra fog light. Are there better bulb upgrades than the stock bulbs? Any suggestions on upgrading the headlight bulbs?

    Thanks,

    Mike

I have JDM Astars from Amazon. They aren’t the brightest but much better than halogens and they’ve lasted me 2years and counting.

In fact all of my bulbs are JDM ASTARS except for the sun visor bulbs67190947-7B35-4434-91EE-2516A2B72A65.jpg

Diode Dynamics SS3 are an awesome replacement assembly if you’re looking for better performance than stock, but we don’t know your budget.

OEM LED headlights from 2018+ Tundras are the recommendation if you’re looking to go LED there as well. I can’t help you with a halogen build replacement though.

We all try to do our best to help each other spend money here :spending:

Thanks for the replies. As for the budget I’m willing to spend a decent amount on bulbs if:
    (1) the preformance is a lot better than OEM stock; (2) great longevity.

That being said, I plan to go with LED bulbs. Can my truck light systems go from a halogen bulb to a LED bulb. I plan to change the bulbs, not replace the light systems

I’ve heard good things about headlightrevolution.com for bulbs

i chose the JDM Astars because they were much cheaper than headlight revolution. And i’ve been happy with the performance and life of the bulbs thus far

Yes, I have Lasfits in mine. Much better then the stock halogens. I could not even tell the halogens were on. The Lasfits do a great job of lighting up the sides of the road.

Well the pro light system might be an option. I need to see if they will fit in a 2017 tundra.

Yep, they fit. You’ll just need iHacker’s harness for the wiring and they’re plug and play.

Thanks. So if I go with the current TRD pro fog light set all I need additionally is the iHacker’s harness? Or will I need to get a new housing to insert the fog light into? Do the TRD fog lights come with LED bulbs or will I need to purchase these myself. Thanks again for all the help!!

Oh, if you’re just talking about the TRD Pro fogs, those are plug and play, no harness needed. The iHacker harness is just for the headlights, if you want to put OEM LED on trucks that came with halogens.

Sweet. I might as well goes with those. I assume I can use the same plastic/ rubber housing, correct? Is there are part number available?

I feel so motivated that I might just buy the TRD pro headlights but for the 2017 tundra- I like the yellow daytime running lights. Where would I find the iHarness? Thanks again. I owe you a beer!

Sorry about all the iHacker’s harness questions. Just trying to learn. Is this harness for connecting a LED light bulb when using your existing headlight assembly, or is the harness for connecting the a entire new headlight assembly to a older model Tundra?

After some thinking I might want put the current TRD Pro headlight assembly on my 2017 truck. In this case would I need a iHackers harness?

The iHacker harness is related to headlights. He does sell adapters for fog lights too, but you can also get them on Amazon. You would need an adapter if you decide to go diode dynamics or rigid. Here is the set I went with.
Starkey Products Fog Light Wiring Adapters H11 to Deutsch Set https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01EXWDNTK?_encoding=UTF8

Here is the link to diode dynamics products. These will use the existing round housing you currently have and should be a very quick and easy install. Plus they have good light output.
    https://www.diodedynamics.com/ss3-led-fog-light-kit-for-2014-2021-toyota-tundra.html

and here is the link to the headlight thread if you’re interested in upgrading your headlights.

Thanks!! SS3 fog lights are nice! If I get them, I will also get the Starkey wiring adapters as you mentioned above.
