I'm wanting to upgrade the factory fog lights to (yellow/amber) or, add the lower grill 20" light bar from either Heretic, Baja Designs or Diode Dynamics... In terms of light output, im assuming the lightbar would be the brighter choice. Or, would upgraded fog light output be significant enough to hold off on the light bar? If you had to choose, which would you do first?

I would start with the fog lights first.

I’d start with where you need them.

fog light ‘can’ be run street legal.

light bar can only be run legally off-road ~ or when nobody is around (I use this method the most) can vary by state?

personally, I did light bars first.

I got the DD fogs first and can say they are a must before any other lighting

What’s your intent for upgrading your lighting? Snow storms? Dusty area driving? Dark country roads? Or you just want to add more lights because you feel like it (also totally fine)?

That could give us more insight and help you with your lighting choices.

I have a Lasfit 30"lightbar mounted in my lower grille (hidden mount). I use it every night while driving, but I also use a Trigger One bluetooth relay switch that gives me a dimmer switch so I can drive with it on as an extra "running" light. I only put it up full blast when in areas that there are no other vehicles around. Uploaded photos show it while it is "off", and one at a low setting.

I would do the light bar first seeing how you have working factory fogs already. You could always put Amber film over the factory fog light for if you just want colored covers.

@Crewmax808: looks very nice. How difficult was that to install? Do you have links for the lightbar and BT switch? thanks.

On my previous vehicle(s) I always upgraded the fog lights to something aftermarket yellow/amber. To me, super helpful in inclement weather when primary driving lights (5k temp and above) seem to get absorbed into the wet dark roads... The recent heavy rain storm here in Nor-Cal + driving down some unlit 2-way roads put me on this path. :)

Hey V6Raider, I would recommend doing the fog lights first as there are options that are street-legal rather than adding a light bar which is only usable off-roading. I will add a link below for some options from Baja designs Below and if you have any questions or want help with an order feel free to reach out to me at brandonk@bajadesigns.com.

Hey @Eurodriver, For the Xl series lights it has the same overall style as the Squadrons but is a lot larger overall. Also, the light output on the Xl is much better than a Squadron series lights due to the larger reflectors and Circuit boards that are featured in the series line. I don't have a trick to mounting these or drilling holes where you are looking to mount these lights but most companies will design mounts for various locations for aux lighting options that work without products. We also offer IR light options so that can have both. If you would like help getting anything from Baja Designs on order feel free to email me at brandonk@bajadesigns.com.
    Best,
    Brandon

You can find the lightbar on Amazon, Lasfit 30" lightbar. It didn't come with the wire harness, I highly recommend getting the harness directly from Lasfit. You can also find the bluetooth relay switch on Amazon, it's called Trigger One. They also make different ones like Trigger Four and Trigger Six, depending on how many devices you would like to hook up to it.
As for the mounts, I got those from Cali Raised, they're called hidden mounts. As for the install, it was fairly easy to do.

Oh, and you will need a few washers on each side of the lightbar when attaching it to the mounts. See Gearrunner's install video on Youtube.
