    Just curious if the Rigid's are worth over twice the price of the DD's? I've seen that the DD's do not have a crisp cutoff line, and so aren't considered SAE compliant. I haven't seen any pics the Rigid beam casts, only that their website says "SAE compliant."

    I'm looking to get some amber fogs, but $700+ is a bit steep. At $300, the DD's would be easier on the wallet.

    I want plug and play (install) and don't want to have to remove the apron, so the Baja's are not a choice for me - even though they look to have the most crisp cutoff. Haven't looked at Heretic...

    Thoughts?

    I think you have it backwards. DD have some of the most crisp cutoffs and one of the few that are SAE compliant.

    The pics I've seen show the DD's spilling over above cutoff lines. Can you elaborate?

    I'd recommend DD over Rigid for sure, Rigid has gone south the last 5-6 years in my experience. Sucks that BD isn't an option because they are the pinnacle.

    That being said, for SAE lights the DD are certainly adequate. Not going to see a huge difference in any major manufacturers' SAE lights out on the street.

    I have DD's on our wrangler and they are fantastic. very crisp cut off and a perfect amber/yellow light for the fogs.

    The only one that has a soft cut off is the SS3 Pro line. But it still has a solid cut off. My SS3 Max cut off is like a laser

    I have the Rigid amber fogs and I love them, cutoff line is so sharp you could cut yourself on it...

    I run the DD pros. They're SAE certified. I haven't run anything from Rigid, but the DD lights are very bright. I've been really happy with them.

    I have DD's SS6 fogs in amber/active yellow and the cutoff isn't super sharp like how our LED headlights are, but that shouldn't be a concern as long as your properly aim your fog lights. I drive with them on every now and then when not in adverse conditions and I haven't gotten flashed. The cutoff is still pretty good on the fog lights and DD uses a wide lens in their SS6 for our truck.

    They are really bright and helpful. There's quite a few videos of the SS6's on Youtube showing their spill pattern and brightness.

    I also have their SS3 Pro's too and those are insanely bright.

    From a cost to functionality standpoint DD is hard to beat, and their quality is outstanding.

    Thanks for the feedback. That's kind of what I thought... But you're right, hard to beat for the price point. I've already ordered a pair and actually just got tracking showing a Thursday arrival.

    SS5s aren’t marketed as SAE compliant, nor do they come in a fog pattern. So can’t really bring those to the table here as they are meant to be pure, auxiliary off road lights.

    if you’re referring to the 6” light bar that is sae, that’s not an apples to apples to the pods as the optics are different.

    Good thing I said SS6 then.

    Alot of them
    There is a video in which the BD, the DD, and the Rigids are all compared to each other. I'll have to see if I can find it again.

    I got the SS6 Amber Fogs for my 22’ Platinum. And I will say that I think they are worth the money.
    HOWEVER, I am a little disappointed as I had the SS3 amber sport fogs in my 08’ Tundra and they were unbelievable!
    SS6 = 74 lux
    SS3 = 91 lux

    Agree with @CYBERO24 who had a similar opinion.

    I have 4" rigid 360s amber for ditch lights and 4" 360s whites for my fogs in the OEM holes..they are both SAE comp. Run my spod to them both.

    I'm happy with them. Bright enough for my use and if they are bright to oncoming traffic I just turn my volume up because I don't care..

    Question for all the light experts as I know nothing about…replacing OEM fogs with amber fogs, does this make a big difference in fog and or dark snow conditions? How are they at night with rain? My eyes don’t work as well at night, especially in the rain.

    Supposedly the amber light is better at cutting through low visibility like fog, rain, mist, etc.

    Lots of stuff!
    I was able to get a used set of DD's, I also have a 18 inch DD lightbar and it is too bright for regular use. The DD fogs are nice but the guy I got them from took them out and put some BD's in.

    I am okay with someone else's hand me downs! :)

    No experience with rigid but I have been very pleased with the amber SS6 fog replacements on the Tundra. I added the undercover light-bar behind the bumper too. An altogether fantastic solution for not a whole lot of money.

    Hello group,
    Do these aftermarket fog light options throw any code issues? This upgrade would be awesome on my 2024 TRD Pro here in the PNW. I would need a shop to install these though. These old eyes and hands are not what they use to be.
    Thanks for your input!

    Diode over rigid any day. Better optics. Diode doesn’t throw any codes as it is plug and play as well. I have them, as well as two ss18 bars. Plan on adding two big bangers to the mix as well.

    No codes from DD kit. PnP. Save the money over Rigid, IMHO.
