I’m looking into new fog lights. And I saw these Cali fog lights. I’ve read some reviews and it’s a 50/50. I replace my oem fog lights with LED bulb but I could see the led flickering while driving.. I zip tied and it work nice but I’ve replace zip ties 4 times:/ I like rigid but they are pretty pricey. Any suggestions guys??

The Cali Raised ones aren't real street legal fog lights. They have no cut off and are for off road use only.

I was looking at those diode. Is the housing secure? Cause OEM housing sucks.. so loose.. and it looks like the housing for Cali fog lights look loose as well:/

Rigid, Baja Designs or Diode Dynamics are all great options as well as SAE/DOT compliant.

I have the Diode's in my Tundra, they are secure and do not shake if you use three or four zip ties behind them.

Cali raised is junk. Go with Diode Dynamics SS3. They’re the best street legal fog light you can get. It’s tested and proven. You’re wasting your money on anything less.

I installed cali amber fogs this past winter and about a month later found out about diode dynamics and wish I would of got those. I like my amber fogs but difficult to adjust and light output and cut off of DD looks much better. I will for sure be getting DD for my next tundra!

I really like the DD.. but like you said. You have to zip tie. Call me picky lol. It’s either I’m using the wrong ties or I’m placing the zip ties in the wrong place

I had Cali Raised on my Tundra for about 5-6 months. I swapped them out for DD SS3s and they're considerably better IMO. Cali were good but I like the output, color and finish on these more. Plus they reuse the old housings so they sit like stock where as the Cali Raised pop out of the bumper. I liked that at first but I want to get ecoological bumper caps and I was worried about if they'd fit or not with the Calis.

    Tastefully enhanced...
Baja Design squadron sport or pros don't jiggle at all and are a fine product...they have an interesting bracket and uses the OEM bezel that make them solid when mounted...I am very pleased with them and how they perform...the wide cornering lenses are most ideal! And they can be had as SAE compliant as well.

I first had morimoto xb led fogs and loved the brightness and cutoff over stock halogen fogs, then I recently bit the bullet on DD SS3 pros and it’s a significant upgrade over both fogs. I love my new fogs and I think it was worth the investment/purchase. I did zip tie them and they have no shake or wobble whatsoever. It’s not hard to do at all. I haven’t had any zip ties break or come off, I’d just recommend not to over tighten only enough to where they are really really snug. Good luck with whichever you choose!

I didn't want to spend much on fog lights and had bought the CaliRaised LED fog lights. Looks great but not street legal and also, no define line and the they pointed outwards. Switched over to Diode Dyanmics SS3 sport version and love them more!

There’s a guy in Tacoma world who test output and everything on tons of lights from his research the ss3 pros are the best on the market.

I installed the Sport Fog . These fog lights are incredibly bright. I can only imagine how bright the Pro series are, you would almost think they would be illegal. Diode Dynamics hit one out the park with these fog lights.
First pic headlights only. 2nd pic fogs on:eek:, I'm on a 5 lane highway and as you can see I'm lightning up that house thats 50yds off the road:thumbsup:

Agreed. I went wirh the Pros myself and was blown away by the output. I can drive on our 6 lane Highway with partition walls on both sides and the beam reaches each wall.

Those aren’t the same ones. Because mine say made in Japan on them and not made in China.

@Roman can probably clear it up, but I know the actual ones that come on the truck stock are different and cost more.

I believe the chinese made are Valeo and the Japanese made are Koito and more expensive. But for about the same price, I'd switch to aftermarket like DD SS3 sport. I opted for the Pros coz of the 4th of July sale.

Total Chaos upper arms, spindle gusset, diff drop, shackles, rear bump stop kit, bed stiffiners, deaver leafs (soa), archive u bolt flip, tc spec adjustable king 2.5’s, BajaDesigns squadron fog lights and 40” s8 on Sdhq behind the grill mount, BFGoodrich Ko2 285/75/17 on Method grid wheels
image.jpg I have had the Baja Designs squadron sport oem fog light replacement kit for about 60,000 miles And 3 years total with lots of dirt/Baja, only with one issue: the drivers side oem fog light bezel had become worn out on the inside mounting points and the light would vibrate on dirt roads. I ended up running a bolt through the front of the bezel to the squadron mount and a large zip tie for good measure. It’s been vibration free for over a year now and the passenger side hasn’t had an issue. They seemed to have more coverage than a set of rigid’s when i did a side by side comparison and the color of the squadron was less intense which for me creates less fatigue on eyes and better depth perception. I went with Baja designs because of their undeniable reputation in desert racing and they have a well set up tundra as a shop truck so I figured they have done some extra testing on this particular product. I would buy them again.
