Nothing surprises me. My zero turn mower had some made up, useless maintenance buried in the warranty guide to perform to including some that had to be done only by the dealer. The obvious intent was to turn their advertised 3 year warranty into a defacto 1 year warranty unless you spent hundreds of dollars and days of time on BS. At some point shifty GM changed its warranty wording to only covers manufacturing defects but not design defects; they have used that as a legal defense for a multitude of law suits for junk designs like their 8 speed tranny. Most 3rd party warranties have conditions to facilitate voidance of most of their warranty claims.

Had a “waterproof” camera that had water ingress and ruined it. It was within the warranty period so I reached out. Warranty voided due to not changing the waterproof seals annually as clearly stated on page 59 in small print of the owners manual that isn’t provided with the purchase of the camera.

The big 3 spend more money on advertising and brainwashing everyone that if you're a real American and a real man, you'll buy their junk, than all of us combined will make in our lifetimes. They should spend more of that money on building better vehicles.
They've put in a little more effort since 2007, when Toyota made the entire US realize that the big 3 had been building total garbage all along, but their products are still crap and their business models are crap and their customer service is crap.
But they will always make money. We like our expensive crap. As long as it has the right brand name and a cool commercial.
I wish Toyota would invest more in their full size truck line, but I'm sure that if they even hinted at considering it, someone would get a water bottle stuck under their gas pedal and Toyota would have to pay a multi billion$ fine to the DOJ.

Fuuuuuuuh... They got you there. I'll keep it G... I can see condoms going down this Ave... But it's all right to repair. Once they take the right to repair away, it will all turn to garbage, and you'll need a service agreement that requires you to bring it in at exactly 3,000.00 miles. Not before and definitely not after. Having you going reverse and forward at the entrance for that 1/10th a mile to brin it in for service. Louis Rossman on youtube touches on this and calls out Toyota for jumping on the Big3 bandwagon against right to repair, calling mechanics potential "s" assault predators.
