Stop me if this has been asked a thousand times already but I'm looking for some input on the Fox 2.0 coil overs for my new 2021 Tundra 4WD TRD off road. I'm basically looking for the stance of the TRD Pro and won't be doing any crazy off roading. I'd love to find a set of TRD Pro take offs and just bolt them on and not worry about the adjustment but I'm not finding any at a reasonable price. Any pros or cons about he Fox 2.0 kits ? Also what should they be set at to get a level stance ? I hear 2" but then also hear talks about the Tundra lean. New to the forum so thank you !

I had the fox 2.0 on my 17 tundra gives it a good stance look. A less expensive option (and they use the same springs) are the Eibach pro truck coil over 2.0. Just like the fox you can go with a 0 to 2.5 lift or level on the tundra.

The fox give a factory ride feel, you will need to have the alignment checked. The 2 year maintenance should take care of this. I did not experience tundra lean.

Yea I’m capable enough to replace them myself I just wasn’t sure about this Tundra lean. I’d get them adjusted to 2” from the seller because I want that level TRd Pro look but I don’t want to put them on and have it crooked just to take them off again for adjustment sake.

They are adjustable. Therefore the lean can be compensated for. They have to be compressed to be adjusted.

What causes this lean for some people and not others ? The 38 gal gas tank ? Model year ?

I recently installed the Fox 2.0 suspension. I dialed this truck back from previous trucks I owned hitting the dirt hard. The Fox setup is fine for on-road with off-road trials. Plenty of shock for these trucks without hitting the whoops or “G” outs at 80 mph.

No need to upgrade UCA’s or diff drop. It gives 2” out of box and I have about 1/4” rake when measuring. Along with same with the “Tundra” lean, but with naked eye it looks level and no lean.

Looks great ! I appreciate the input as I think this is the direction I’m headed. My main goal is to get the front level with the rear and hit that TRD Pro stance. Besides that the stock suspension is adequate for what I’ll ever do with it so the Fox 2.0 seems to be what will suit my goals. Any lessons learned with this setup ? Also does your have the 38 gal tank ?

    Yes 38 gallon tank.

As for installation. Just undo front sway bar bolts from frame upfront and once you detach the upper uca from spindle. You’ll have enough room to remove stock strut and install Fox coilover with slight pressure down on lower uca. Rear shocks are self explanatory.

Easy install. Under 3hr self install.

It is probably the same reason 4Runners have a left lean and the aftermarket sells front shocks with higher spring rates for the drivers side. You have the driver 100% of the time, and the gas tank is on the same side. They tend to lean to the left when the springs elastically deform over age. Many 4Runner lift kits come with extra 1/8" spacers for the driver side to compensate for this. Should be the same for Tundra (4 bolt vs. 3 bolt).

Nice ! Seems like the Fox 2.0 is just what I’m looking for. I can’t see spending 3k on TRD Pro shocks when I can do the same thing I want for like $1,200 with the 2.0 Fox.

I would look at the Bilstein 6112 too. The Bilsteins are a digressive valving instead of progressive with Fox. This means the Bilstein starts off firmer, and then almost immediately gets softer. This is generally regarded as better for on road handling, and my experience agrees. Since you mentioned you won’t be doing much off road, this may be better for you. Between the 6112’s and the TRD sway bar, my Crewmax handles like a champ. The 6112’s have the larger shock body size and are rebuildable, similar to the Fox so you get the cooling and performance benefits of that on a larger truck with heavier wheels and tires.

2.0 is too small, IMO, for our large trucks.

I’m looking to do this exact same thing. Did you ever do this? My truck will probably always be a pavement princess so just looking to bring the front up a bit. Was really looking at the fox 2.0’s.
