For those of you who have experience with these, I’d like to know which route to go. I can’t afford King, Ads, or Fox reservoirs at the moment nor can I really justify the price. Therefore, I’m looking at either the 2020 Fox TRD Pro setup or the Falcon setup. The TRD Pro Fox is a 2.5” shock with piggyback reservoirs and a Trd pro specific coil over. The Falcon is a 2.3” shock with clip system and no external reservoir in the front. However, the rears do have an external reservoir AND adjustability. The difference in ride height between the two options is negligible. I can buy used Trd takeoffs with 20k miles for $1,000 (and rebuild if necessary for approx $600) vs the falcons new for $1,700. Can anyone tell me the difference in feel between the two options when traveling washboard roads and fire trails? (I’m thinking I’d be crazy to pass on the Trd pro setup.)

I would snag the TRD Pro Fox's for that price! No brainer there!

If you decide to got the other way and get the Falcon's I would love a spare set of TRD Pro Fox's! Let me know!

Unless the pro’s are leaking the rebuild isn’t worth it. I had mine done at fox with the understanding they would be perfect. I was mistaken, and out 600+ shipping.

Rolled the dice on the TRD Pros. Figure I can have them rebuilt if necessary and still have a helluva shock for the money. We’ve got a good shop in Colorado Springs so I wouldn’t have to send them to Fox either. Appreciate it!

FOX didn’t do a good job on the rebuild? Can you elaborate more please?

Falcon rears are badass...enough for me to like how they function between the three settings. The front setup is a mild bummer...they ride well but mine make noise. I had my passenger side replaced under warranty after 1 year and now my front end squeaks like a giant angry mouse. If I were deaf, I'd still love them as they work well, but squeaks bother me. Sometimes you just need to roll the dice...TRD is everything you'll need...get a TRD RSB and your towing will be pleasantly surprising.

Simple things like a cleaning fee, not clean when returned, and charging me for decals but didn’t install them. Also attention to detail like spring orientation on the top hats not matching “L” and “R” per side. The rebuild was a few seals and fluid exchange, or so they claim. The price and service didn’t meet expectations and at best was lackluster. Unless the shocks have a visible leak or you simply don’t know the prior condition I guess it’s good for piece of mind. I did it for those reasons, but if I had the knowledge prior I’d have skipped it.

I have the same squeek. Not sure if its our Falcons. Was thinking it was my upper control arm bushings or front sway bar rubbing.

I'm bummed to say, but I think you're correct on the LCAs needing replaced or figured out...I took my Cat-shields off and sprayed FSB bushing and did a visual check...nothing looked weird...as soon as I dropped my lift and the tires hit, the squeak was there...se la vi!

    I’ve had both.

Originally went with Falcons because I was being cheap, and didn’t want to spend the money on a set of Pros from Sparks.

My front drivers side shock started making a clunking noise immediately, and was leaking bad.

Falcon made it very inconvenient to get a replacement or to get my shock repaired. So I did what I should have done originally, and bought the Fox Pro shocks. The after almost $1000 in shock removal / install / shipping of the junk Falcons, I gave them to my BIL.

Then in less than 3 months (summer BTW) the new updated shocks were leaking again.

If you look through the Falcon shock threads on this site, I am not the only one with problems.

I really wanted to love the Falcons, and would make the same original choice again given how good a reputation US company like Falcon had in the Jeep world. But their inconsistent customer service after giving me junk shocks has left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

As far as ride quality, there is NO COMPARISON. My experience with having them both on the same truck, in the same conditions, the same roads, the same speed bumps, etc. The Fox Pro shocks ride MUCH better in all conditions, and are worth the extra money if purchasing at MSRP, and at $1000 it isn’t even a question.
