Just curious about something, and it may have been addressed.

If a chap is under the truck with sawzall, it looks like it might be easy to cut the bolts attaching the cat shields to the skid. Its one thing to cut 3 ft of 10 gauge steel in a hurry vs a few bolts, but I could be missing something.

@RCIoffroad only if your skid plates worked with spindle lifts

Does the Tundra Transmission Skid Plate work with the TRD PRO front skid plate?

@RCIoffroad any conceivable way to make your trans skid/cat guards work with a 6" ProComp drop bracket lift?

I just dropped off my plates to have them blasted and recoated. I already have all 3 plates but would like to add the cat protection before reinstalling everything. Any special pricing in this case?

Actually @PRO BLANCO i just clicked the link and scanned through, it says the setup does indeed work with the TRD Pro skid. Exact wording is “compatible with” so I’m waiting for an answer about whether it directly bolts along with or if there are other parts needed.

350 for a tranny skid and cat protection? If this works with TRD skid that’s a good deal

I have the TRD PRO skid paired up with mine, it “fits”…however, my PRO skid is now very noisy. You just replace the rear hardware for the PRO skid with the hardware RCI provides and it mounts up without issues. But I get a lot of popping sounds from it, mainly when turning at slow speeds when the shocks get compressed. I have not been able to fix the issue, maybe if you modify the PRO hardware it will work better. My solution is going to be switching over the the RCI skids.

Well hey man I really appreciate that info, I’m one of the lucky guys that hasn’t had any noise from the Pro skid after installing it myself. Heard lots of ideas about felt or weather stripping between it and the truck when installing, glad I didn’t need it.

Mine was totally silent from the factory, but just hasn't been the same since installing the cat guards. If you are set on keeping the PRO skid, I would advise against the trans skid/cat guards. The protection is worth it for me so I will be swapping to the RCI skid once I decide the noise is too annoying to deal with anymore lol

I add both to my cart and it shows a $200 discount but the checkout price doesn’t reflect the discount?

Just add the transmission skid to your cart, than check your cart and press on apply coupon, that should just add the cat guards on with no extra charge.

RCI put their sliders on sale literally the day after I ordered mine. I gave them a call and played nice, and they credited my card for the difference.

I called and spoke to a rep. Said since I took advantage of another deal, I couldn't combine both. After doing a little math, I would've saved $80.00 going with the free offer. RCI has seen the last of my business and references.

Ouch that’s unfortunate. I would have hoped @RCIoffroad would have offered an alternative solution that would be acceptable to all parties

I would think anyone who purchased the Transmission AND cat guards, within 30 days, would have a good chance of calling and asking for a credit. They don't have to, but it would go a long way with word of mouth positive feedback.

Any longer than that, I'd say you would be out of luck. They are a business after all.

I paid full price for cat guards when I purchased sliders. I already had the RCI engine & transmission skids.

The sad thing about is. I wasn't asking for a refund. I wanted store credit. So I could spend more money with them.

I think just a forum promo code here would/could go a long way. I do not have a business degree but I do agree it is a business.

If you were happy with the product price when you purchased, I wouldn’t sweat it. You win some, you lose some, but a business doesn’t owe you money because they had a sale after you already purchased an item. RCI isn’t Walmart or Amazon.

I completely agree. At the end of the day these are specialty (typically smaller businesses than we realize) companies. If you bought with a credit card, you can see if they offer 30 day price matching, several do.

Otherwise be happy that you have a good product, delivered at a price you agreed to.

I’ll go ahead and disagree with all of you. My experience with them was sub par at best. Wrong hardware sent and piss poor customer service. I would never recommend them.
