Can anyone tell me if the 40/20/40 split bench seat like I have in my 2007 is available in newer trucks? My Son is looking at 2018-2021 SR5 Tundras but wants a similar bench seat, column shift of course.

I believe the bench seat only comes in the SR/base level/“work truck” trim/model which then also means double cab only.

Right! Took me a long time to find my front bench SR5 CrewMax. Went with a 2nd gen instead of 2.5 gen though.

Got yourself a unicorn lol, I miss having a bench seat, feels more like a classic truck to me.

Thank you, and I agree :fistbump:

@Silveracer07 any other specifics your son is looking for in his truck?
Also, 18' was the last year with the factory auxiliary transmission oil cooler if the truck came with the factory tow package. If that's of importance to him. There are aftermarket options available for the later years, and likely a write up on here somewhere for it as well.

Wish mine was a front bench. :(

Some say the conversion from console shifter/bucket seats to column shifter/bench is possible. I haven’t dug into it though. The few cases I was following where forum members started going down that rabbit hole seem to all have given up.

One other thing to note—the front bench Tundras come with the smaller fuel tank. SR trim are all like this, and SR5 without the SR5 upgrade package are like this, too. (The 38gal tank is part of the upgrade package which, despite its name, is not part of every SR5 out there.)

It’s relatively easy to swap in a big tank if you want.

He's looking to finally replace his 2008 4dr 4x4 SR5 Tacoma. Needs a full size truck. With 3 boys, all under the age of 6 and a 4th in the oven, he needs that front bench in the event he has no choice but to pack the whole family in safely (and legally) for a short distance trip. They normally take the Queens Honda Oddesy. He's had a single cab V8 Chevy company truck for the past 7-8 years to use as he needed for towing his flatbed trailer with a John Deere 3033 tractor, implements and sometimes a small excavator. He wants a Tundra of course but is also looking at 3-4 year old F250s and C2500s (non diesels). Both with the front bench seats. I just have concerns about their long term reliability. Even kept well maintained, where he may be able to get 200-250K out of either. In a Tundra, I believe he can double that. I just turned over 200K in my Tundra and it still drives like it did new.
