For those of you who have a bench seat (not buckets), do you know of any way to get those middle seat belt things (arms/clips?) to recede below the spaces in between seats. I don't like the way they stick out/up....When you slide across from driver to passenger seat (or the other way), those things get in the way of a smooth slide (can almost "impale" you...ha ha).... The other trucks I've driven don't have that issue..Like, with silverado and others, you can push those things down,so the whole 3-seat is like one long smooth couch.

One other question: Do you notice that you have to press pretty hard on the brake when stopped in drive,to prevent the truck from moving? That's one thing I don't like, and didn't notice with other trucks...although
this is the heaviest truck I've driven. I almost feel like putting it into neutral and stop lights, but that wouldn't be good for the transmission in the long run. I used to think it was idliing too high, but after reading about the normal RPM levels (which start out very high but then go down after a few minutes at a cold start) I'm not sure if thats the problem....probably not. But I do feel like I have to press way to hard on the brake.

OK well now we can try to help.
I took out the middle seat thing as that is hardly a bench seat in any way to me?
The actual seat bottom is not remotely at the same height as the other seats and I am not sure how you would execute the slide you describe anyway?
Add to that the armrest is useless and again ot the same height as the other rmreasts and I just have almost no clue at all why they made the bench so useless by design?
Also why would you ever need to slide? I am the driver and never have needed to slide anyway.
The middle comes out really easily and you can stick a console there which for me is a whole lot more useful for sure.

The other thing I have not experienced so I can not offer anything for that.

Sorry, but i really can't understand anything you wrote. But here are responses to some of your sentences:

My middle bench seat is almost exactly the same height as the others. I have been sliding across from driver to passenger all the time, and the
only inconvenience is that seat-belt "arm-recepticals".....but other than that it's flat. In fact, if it wasn't for those two raised arms, one could easily
lay across the front seat and sleep nicelyl!!

Why would want to slide? Well, if I want to sit in the OTHER seats up front (to do some work for example), why would would I want to get out
of the truck and then back in the other door? (like one has to do when they don't have bench seats). The tundra is a huge truck and so its nice to sit in the passenger seat for various reasons (for a few hours).

I don't know what you're talking about with armrests. I do find the middle-fold-up-armrest-console thing very useful......and it becomes a seat-back
when folded up. Just to be clear, I'm talking about tundra front seats with column-shifter.....I'm so glad I got bench seats.....I hate buckets with a console and floor-shifter...such a waste of space.

Mine is useless and uncomfortable to me and so I got rid of it.
I can not imagine trying to sleep across it much less sliding over it for any reason but hey we each have our own thing.
This is what it looked like.

And I can promise you that you will not have to struggle to understand any responses from me again.
