Has anyone used bumper end caps from taco vinyl not overlays actual end caps painted to match https://tacovinyl.com/ not a big fan of overlays in the salt belt unless I take them off and clean the chrome every month or so they salt will just eat my chrome away plus 400$ seems reasonable compared to sparks and the site claims they use oe parts

I heard the grilles were good quality and thought about the caps but they don't offer a version that parking sensor holes.

You might be the first to try their end caps but the quality and color on their grilles was good. If you are wanting to black out your bumper ends and not color match, I used plasti-dip with some bed liner over it and I'm happy with the result. Its only been 2 months but I have 0 chips or peeling. A lot cheaper and easier to touch up or redo if you need.

Just food for thought. Good luck

U did it right over the chrome no sanding did you take them off the truck when you did it I wouldn't mind black match the rest of the bumper I wish someone had experience with the end caps they say there oem and if they sell paint matched grills that match good I'd think these would be the same paint process can't believe no one has tried them with all the chrome deletes and a 140pages about slip on overlays I'd rather do it right the first time seems to cost less in the long run whenever I go cheap I end up paying more in the end

Plasti-dip goes right on the cleaned chrome, no sanding required. I wanted this to be reversible otherwise I would have sanded the chrome and used an etching primer. I did it on the truck and honestly you don't have to take any pieces off the front (most don't) but with my aftermarket bumper/bullbar I had a slight gap that I wanted to ensure got painted black (didn't want chrome peaking out).

I spent a year debating if I wanted to pay to color match and finally I was just tired of the chrome so went this route for a quick and easy fix. I love the black out bumper so much more than I thought.

Bumpershellz… I, and multiple other members, are very happy.

plus the all black front bumper seems to add a visual height to the front end.

    Try it and report back.

I have been using PlastiDip (it’s got a close body color match for MGM) and I am past due to rip it all off and do a third application in 4 years. The ‘dip is fine if you touch NOTHING, but even pulling into a leafy shrub results in bits of chrome poking out.

That is actually a very good price if they offer Toyota parts and painted.

I have the TRD Pro grille from Taco Vinyl and very impressed with the fit/finish. I also have a TRD Pro grille on the way for our 4runner. If you pull the trigger, I would recommend reaching out prior to placing an order to get an actual ETA. It took roughly 6 months to get the Tundra grille (last year) and going on 6 weeks now for the 4Runner grille despite the site saying 2-4 week lead time... Not sure if this is consistent across all products that they source over seas but that has been my experience so far.

Probably going to give them a shot if the grill is good and color matches then I'm sure these will be fine they use OEM parts so the only issue possible would be color 400$ almost seemed to good to be true the covers are not much cheaper and cement seems to take awhile to ship the quest to no chrome starts now next hood bulge from sparks then the grill n tss nonsense

I have a set of front and rear unpainted Bumpershellz I purchased from Eoological in Auburn, Ca. I never installed them because I went with front and rear Rhino bumpers. Free if you want to pick them up, I'm in the Sacramento area.

@Tundragump ill pay shipping for them if you still have them and don’t want them. I’m undecided which route I want to go. If I don’t use them I’ll send them back.

Peel coat graphite color (and gloss coat) matched pretty good on my mgm. Went right over chrome but cleaned with denatural alcohol really good. Like mentioned above it’ll prob only look good til something touches it haha.I had to be really sensitive with a hobby knife blade when pulling off the tape.

my friend is a pro auto painter and I eventually plan on getting the oem primed bumpers and painted to match. This was just to hold me over so I didn’t have to see any chrome when I installed my pro grille/mgm bulge.
