    Hi ya'll hope is well.

Just wanted to show my front bumper chrome delete.

Received the bumper end caps yesterday at 10am then took them to my local body shop and within two hours here is the outcome.

    2021 Trail Edition :)

It only took me 11 months to finally pull the trigger. But it is all worth it.

I ordered these caps Aug 22, Aug 23 they were sent to paint- Aug 24 they were shipped out. Took 1 week to get delivered.

I was expecting 3-6 weeks wait but I am glad everything arrived on time.

Isn't it amazing what a difference it makes?

My buddy paints for a living. He helped me with the grill surround and the caps. Took about 3 hours total, and completely changed the look of the truck.

Are these caps/overlays or do they actually replace the whole chrome piece?

These are overlays. However, unlike other overlays you may have used in the past we design, manufacture, and QC them right here in the USA :oldglory: (Rocklin, CA to be exact!) save me, it's so hot today, and the hills are literally on fire.
That being said, you can rest assured that we crafted these to cover up every usually visible area of chrome (save for maybe a sliver under your bumper).

Platinum edition Tundras seem to have caps covering the bumpers. I guess all color keyed Tundra bumpers have caps over steel. Are the BumperShellz copies of the factory caps? Or a close resemblance? I would really like to get rid of the chrome bits on my Tundra. I'm thinking of removing the chrome bumpers, media blasting and etching them, priming and painting them. Same for the grill surround, bulge, door handles and mirror caps.

BumperShellz are not copies of factory caps. On the Platinum, the plastic you see on the bumper is actually just the bumper itself. If your profile pic is your truck, our products will do exactly what you're asking of them for the front, grille surround, hood bulge, and rear chrome. For the mirrors and door handles, I would get something that's ABS and have a paint shop do the hard work.

Thank you blrroman. That's the kind of information I hoped to get from this thread...with photos too. It's interesting that Toyota replaces steel with plastic to get the color match up front, instead of a cap over the steel like the rear. The rear bumpers on the Limited have a painted plastic cover over a black painted steel bumper end. I figured that was what they did on the front for the Platinum and other color matched models.
Thanks for sharing the the cost. The price is expensive, but you get what you pay for. I'd prefer to stay with the factory bits.
I also think that removing, correctly prepping and painting the chrome parts is another way to go. I could do that myself, but I wanted to explore all options.
Personally, I would not be interested in the overlays on the grill surround and bulge, but the end cap covers seem like a reasonable choice.
    Thanks everyone for sharing.
