Hey everyone I was wondering if anyone has a link to a passenger hard brake line pre bent that goes from brake caliper to brake hose. I was changing out a stud and when I took my brake off I snapped the old rusty line sadly. Anyone know where I can get one? I’m been looking and haven’t found an exact fit. Let me know thanks

Toyota sells these lines pre-bent. Here's the part numbers:

    Driver: 47318-0C020
    Passenger: 47315-0C020

Just had this happen to me today. Snapped the rusty hard line like a twig trying to change front calipers on my Sequoia. Extremely frustrating. Toyota dealer can’t get new lines in until Wednesday - exact same part numbers as your Tundra. I was able to use an old bleeder screw with the same thread pitch to seal off the line at the rubber hose - no more leaking. Thankfully have a spare car to use until then. Highly suggest picking these up ahead of time if you’re going to do any work involving touching these lines on these old trucks.

Yeah I had the same issue I was not able to get a new OEM from Toyota until 2 weeks later after I already started working on it. I actually ordered a OEM hard line off of eBay that got here quick. Fit great and canceled my Toyota order

eBay to the rescue! Would have rather used them. Kind of scary to think 5ft/lbs of hand torque popped that line off like it was nothing. Peace of mind to have it be brand new

Be careful if you ordered "Genuine OEM" off fleaBay. You're liable to get something else. It's really hit or miss.

Yeah I was worried but I was in a pinch…and it surprising was just like the old one of the truck. Fit perfect and came with a receipt from Toyota

Agree 100% Toyota (and Subaru) parts are scam-sold out the wazoo on eBay. However I’d be confident these specific parts are so rare (and so basic in their build) that eBay is a safe option. There are only a handful of eBay buyers I would trust for more complex parts. It is sad how untrustworthy Toyo parts are on eBay

It's not hard to bend brake line. I had to replace the same exact line a couple years ago after a tire chain came loose and tore it off. It just got a short piece of straight line from napa, bent it by hand.....its been fine ever since.

My second replacement arrives tomorrow from Toyota dealer. Anyone figure out why they bend? It seems to be common, but not common enough for a dealer to stock supply? Crazy.
Is it the vaccuum? Is something hitting it, which wouldnt make sense to me. Curious. Thanks.

The metal brake lines are supposed to be bent, it's not a straight line from the caliper to where the metal brake line meets the rubber brake line. Over-bending the lines or improperly supporting the calipers when doing brake work can cause the metal lines to pinch and leak though.

The reason metal brake line is bent, is because by design it needs to meet with the rubber line at a certain place on the spindle, and that's often not a straight line. The metal line doesn't move at all with your suspension. But the rubber line that it connects to does; it moves with your suspension

    Des2mtn,

I guess I wasnt clear with my wording - my apologies. Im aware they are naturally bent, but mine has bent inward to a crack causing a leak.

As you stated, the metal line shouldn’t move; however, mine has bent inward twice. Which I think is odd, even though it seems common.

Since both ends of the line are *supposed* to be mounted to fixed points, the hard line shouldn't bend under normal circumstances. However, I did find on mine that the retaining clip that holds the fitting to the soft line was missing, meaning that the hard line was at least flexing some amount every time the suspension cycled. You may want to check to ensure those retaining clips are in place. Otherwise, the only other reason I can think of that they would bend (again because both ends are fixed in place) would be road debris or some other issue during maintenance (hitting the line with the wheel when mounting/dismounting, caliper removal during brake maintenance, improper jack/stand placement, etc.).

If you're in a pinch and need to fix it that day, auto parts stores sell various sizes in steel and NiCopp lines with the Japanese fittings. I found a perfect match at Advance Auto. NiCopp can be bent by hand. You want to use a tool to bend the steel line. I planned on just using it as a temporary fix, but it turned out so nice that I just left it installed haha.

Why not just get some stainless steel braided lines?
