I have a 2016 Tundra with the Bilstein 6112 with shims (~3") and Bilstein 5160 with Total Chaos Shackles and 1" block. The truck just rolled 39k miles.

I'm getting a squeak when the truck hits small to medium imperfections or bumps in the road. If I hit a speed bump, train tracks, or larger bumps it doesn't squeak. I've sprayed lube on majority of the suspension parts and I can't seem to track it down.

Anyone have a squeak like this? I'm starting to wonder if maybe it's the 6112s squeaking?

I have a similar squeak, though I don't hear it much over my radio :D

I've read a few articles that where the transmission cooler mounts to the truck frame on the top (two mounting points), it can squeak bad, particularly on the passenger's side. Apparently it's over-tightened from the factory. I am going to try and loosen the mount bolts and add some lube (you have to remove the grill to do it), see if that makes it go away. I'll take a pic when I do it if it is successful, but if you search for it, there are pics out there.

I'll check this also, it's coming from the passenger side. I've had 4 Tundra's and this is the first one to develop this type of squeak. Typically the squeak was from my aftermarket leaf springs on my previous Tundras.

I've been messing with it for the past 5k miles, I've removed and reinstalled things and it just keeps coming back. It's worse when it's wet or humid outside, and about the only thing I hadn't checked was this transmission cooler mount (just learned about it today)

My stock suspension squeaked on the passenger side. It’s seem to go away temporarily when I would spray some lube where the top of the spring contacts the upper spring mount.

seems like the lube helps mine too, but it never fully goes away. The wife says it's not that bad and it doesn't affect the truck so don't worry about it. It's kinda embarrassing driving by a lot of people in a newer truck and it's squeaking on small road imperfections.

Also kind bums me that her 2014 4Runner, that I lifted with 5100s, has zero squeaks or noises going down the road, and it's got about ~72k miles on it.

So I did some reading and this mount moves a lot compared to the drivers side. Is this the trans cooler you were talking about?

I had a squeak coming from the front which turned out to be my front sway bar. Took it off. No more squeak.

Yep it sure is. Got my grill off today for painting. I am going to finagle with the mount tomorrow and lube it before I put the grill back on, to finally determine if that’s the culprit...

Found this looking for other stuff. I've had a squeak for a few years. Same circumstances as above.

So I lubed up the trans cooler mounts and the squeak was still there. So I tackled getting my spare 295/70R18 Trail grappler off my old truck fit under the bed as a “full sized” spare. Well I’m surprised to report that ~80% of the squeak is gone now. Now I get a faint squeak randomly so I guess it was my spare tire squeaking the whole time. It sounded like it was coming from the front, but after putting my oversized spare under there the squeak is almost entirely gone! In full disclosure I did check the stock spare and repositioned and made sure it was tight before making this thread. Not sure why it was still squeaking.

Now just to find out what is causing this quieter squeak, but it’s so faint I can’t hear it over my tire hum at 30+ mph

my 2018 is squeaking when onto a parking lot from the street hmm, i'm all stock on my Sport suspension. I wonder what it could be. Started noticing this about a month ago, less than 10k.

Wanted to bring closure to this, I found my squeak. The center nut on my 6112's that attach the strut to the top hat was loose. I tightened them down and marked the threads with paint and all my squeaking has disappeared. The truck makes zero noises going over bumps now :)

What did you use to tighten it down? What lb torque? Mine isn't loose but creaking like crazy, and goes away if I barely turn shock rod, but comes back next time I drive it. Thanks!

I used a ratchet wrench, and I tightened each bolt down until it was tight. Didn’t use a tq spec, just tight with my wrench.

    No squeaks still so far

Thank you SOOOO much. I have been searching for that squeak for 2 months.. The center bolt on the 6112s was the culprit.. It's a beautiful thing driving down the road without that noise.

Haha glad it was helpful! The squeak hasn't came back yet, and it is beautiful driving down the road with zero squeaks
