I have a 2016 Tundra 5.7 Dbl cab 4x4 Limited with 38 gal fuel tank.

I have attached a pic of my fuel pump control unit which is located in the frame rail near the driver side rear wheel. This is the only wire harness on this unit and it faces to the forward of the truck. Can anyone identify the wires shown and tell me what they do where do they come from where do they go etc

    in order:
    Blue
    Red
    White w/black stripe
    white (smaller gauge)
    Black

the reason: As an additional layer of security, and to stop someone using my truck if they have my keys
I'm considering installing a kill switch that interrupts the fuel pump circuit, so it will crank but not start. I envision activating the device (opening the circuit) when the truck is off and parked. If an attempt was made to start the truck in this mode, the fuel pump would not work. There may be enough pressure in the fuel line to start the engine, but not much beyond that (I think). My idea was to tap into possibly the ground wire of the fuel control module with a switch that ran all the way up into my cab of the truck. since chassis grounds are shared within a vehicle, I feel it would be best to do it all the way back at the module so the ground cut off would just be turning off (or not letting it turn on) the fuel control module.
So I have a few questions that I want to throw out there before I dive in:

    1. Will the ECU complain if the fuel pump doesn't respond, possibly creating a "check engine" light? but that depends on question #2.

    2. If the engine is started for just a second with residual fuel in the system without power to the fuel pump, will it cause any damage? My experience tells me it will not cause damage, but today's fuel systems are very complicated and I want to be sure.

Your thoughts , ideas and experience are appreciated.

This may be no help but hopefully you get something from it. I have a 2014 crew max but my fuel pump control module has 2 separate connectors. One has the incoming power and control wires and the other has the red and blue wires going to the fuel pump itself. On mine the blue wire should have 12v when the ignition is on. The red wire is the ground for the pump and is what's broken to control the pump function.(on, off, and variable speed) When the computer call for the the fuel pump, the fuel control module grounds the red wire completing the circuit in the pump. I used a long jumper wire to put 12v to the blue and ground the red wire to diagnose a faulty pump on mine. of course I had it unplugged so not to risk damage to anything else.

Any progress on the fpcm bypass? I have seen it done with the other harness but can’t find it with the same one you have.
