Not sure what happened but I noticed this weekend that as soon as I squeezed the pump handle, it cuts off because the fuel backs up. I've tried repositioning the nozzle but it doesn't make a difference. Yesterday, it took me about 10 minutes to put 2 gallons of fuel. Obviously, something must have come loose and is lodged somewhere in the filler tube. Yesterday, I was able to insert a tube 22 inches in there until it came into contact with something ( I presume a screen). On two separate occasions this weekend, I attempted to put fuel. As you can see in the pictures, the fuel level was stationary and appearing that the tank was 100% full but as you can see on the fuel gauge, it's not. And I drove around enough that I'm certain the gauge is correct. Guess I will call the dealership and make an appointment.

This sounds similar to the rollover valve being closed on our tanks.

I had the same issue. I basically made it inoperable. I pulled the filler neck and dislodged the valve and boom no more issues. In your case take it to the dealer.

I had the same problem , drove around to another station filled fine . I came to the conclusion that I had parked on a hill all day leaning down hill towards filler . Some how it block filler until it resets by driving . I was only a block from the first station . It took a mile are so of driving to reaching the second gas station no problem filling

That didn't work for me. I completely filled up on Thursday 29 June. It was 100% full (I could see the fuel level). Attempted to top off again on Saturday 1July and that's when the issue began. Tried again on Wednesday 5July............same issue. Waiting on call back from dealer to schedule an appointment.

    Some.
Am I missing something or did toyota change the evap system to make it so you can overfill it without damage?
I know this doesn't help the issue of the rollover valve, but it is not a good idea to intentionally fill it until you can see gas in the neck.

This is the hybrid right? There is a valve or something in the filler neck of Toyota hybrids which is why there is a button to open the fuel door. When you press the fuel door button the valve is supposed to open to let you refuel. The manual says to press the fuel door button again.

For reference, the regular Tundra doesn’t have a fuel door button.

@Silver23 not able to contribute to your problem but I'm curious to know how you got your "iForce" and "MAX" gauges to be vertical bars rather than "dials"?

Mine doesn't look like that and didn't see anywhere to change a setting. :monocle:

Since I'm not in my truck right now, I can't exactly remember, but use the buttons on the left side of the steering wheel to go through the screens; kinda like adding a trailer to your truck. Don't remember if it said "view" or something like that, but you'll see once you start scrolling though the features. Don't remember the title name but there is a youtube video that explains how to do it.

I was wondering the exact same thing.
Figured it was a '1794' feature but now I got to know?

well damn, the last time I attempted to add fuel was 5 July; today is 8 July and I was able to top it off. What's weird is that I was just under 3/4's of a tank and it only took a little over 4 gallons to fill it up. The gauge showed full and my range was 482 which has been normal at fill ups. Guess I'll still bring it in so they can look at it. By Monday I'll have close to 9k miles and they said I could change my oil at that time.

Been a year and a half but maybe a resurrection if anyone has any updates?
I just had a LRA 44 gallon tank installed and now mine clicks off constantly unless I fill it at 1/3-1/2 speed (station depending).20+ min to fill 30 gallons!

Hoping there is a reasonable price fix

    Nitrogen filled tires!
Of you are in a Gen2 (as your "vehicle" info shows) you might want to check somewhere other than Gen3. Sounds like a
vacuum/vent issue. Dealer not likely to be helpful. Look for a racing shop that understands fueling. FWIW never over fill - when you over fill after the initial shut off the canister fills with fluid (gas) and repeated occurances will shut the fuel supply system down (choke it off) because the canister is full.

    Thanks.
My bad, I have been reading everything on the forum and lost track of the gen this thread was in. it does, however, seem like this is Not just a 3rd gen occurrence, so I thought it might still be helpful.
If the canister was full, wouldnt there be a CEL though?

@Trabs00 eventually it should result in a CEL if the canister is full. Not sure how the valve gate functions - back pressure fluid elevation to force valve gate closed. Maybe try the "ask a mechanic" thread on the Forumn. I'd be interested in knowing too. @ColoradoTJ any thoughts?

    Aftermarket tank installed....

I would bet it's the vent line pinched off during install. Seen that happen several times. I had to be careful installing my 62 gallon tank on my truck. Not a lot of room.
