    Hello!

    2001 Tundra v8 4X4 automatic SR5.

My gauge cluster is nearly useless at this point. Oil pressure gauge drops to zero at idle, speedometer is 5mph slow, fuel gauge wanders when the tank is full (wanders anywhere from empty to full until I hit 3/4 of a tank, then it corrects itself) and my shift indicator light for drive is burned out.

My question is, has anyone replaced any of the gauges? Do I need a new circuit board, or should I take a look at my sending units first? Since everything seems to be going bad, I would think the circuit board is the issue. Everything, from what I gather is resistance based, so I am guessing the resistors are just toast from 21 years on the road.

I can purchase a new circuit board for about 100 bucks from ToyotaPartsDeal.com.

    Can anyone with experience advise?

All I am really looking to do is a replacement in kind. I am not really interested in upgrading to LED's, just for the sake of simplicity and my truck is pretty old.

This is what I am looking at getting. 98 bucks, I think, or pretty close to it.

You're correct on the resistance based. There are gauge resistance checks you can make if you wish to at least look at them if you have access to a Volt/Ohm meter. As you may know, our oil at idle is usually normal at 1/4 mark but definitely not zero. The fuel reading issue is the most combursome if you have to access the tank area to check sending unit. With that said, I'll post some 03 FSM combination meter checks which should pertain to 01 also. I'll also attach a pdf of further gauge/combination meter checks.

A SINCERE Thank You to BubbaW for this. Exactly what i needed. Where can you find the FSM for these?

They don't even sell Haynes/Chilton manuals for these anymore, they are all online and you have to subscribe, which is the most frustrating thing imaginable and I would not pay one cent for something that I could not reference with greasy hands while working on my truck (a paper bound manual). Chilton and Haynes can go the f broke for all I care.

I was/will post a picture of my dash cluster as soon as my damn phone sends it. My oil pressure drops to zero on the dash, but i am not knocking or producing metal filings when I drain the oil. But I'll see.

    Thanks again.

This one has been posted numerous times here and is still available and clean. Contains the FSM and EWD which is why it's pretty big

Did you end up replacing the circuit board? Success
