I have seen a few examples and just purchased a 2.5 Gen bumper of marketplace. Has anyone on here done this? Anything to look out for?

There has been a few posts on here of the bumper swap from the 14-21 over to a 2nd gen. I'll have to look for them.

I don't know all the things to watch out for, but, most I have seen opt to run a 1/2" or so bumper spacer to push the bumper forward and line up the front corners of the bumper and the trim on the 2nd gens. Here is a picture that I stole from pyrite808 where you can see the plastic trim on the 2nd gen doesn't quite line up with a 2.5gen bumper design. Other than that as far as I know everything should bolt up.

The bolting locations is the same for the 07 and up. The bumper that is on my truck now that is for a 14 and up was on my 2013 before I sold it. Then I moved it to my 2020.

In this picture, did the user attach bumper spacer/shims or did he just add a 2.5 gen bumper?

I've been watching his thread (https://www.tundras.com/threads/the-pyrite-ship.64516/) and he said he did not install them originally and was considering it when he put on his lift and tires, but, I don't think he ever did.

Another picture stolen from one of his most recent posts, it looks like the bumper mated straight up to the frame mounts. So I'm going with no... but I would have to ask.
