I just had an ARE Z installed on my 2021 CrewCab, right before a weekend of solid Oregon rain. Water seems to be seeping between bed rail tops and the canopy (the install seam), making puddles in the bed, especially at the corners. This is much more leaking than I remember with my 2001 Tundra (ARE) or 1998 Tacoma (Century) canopies.

Is this a known problem with a known solution on the Gen 2.5? I don’t want to make multiple return trips to the dealer who installed it. I am wondering if this is a late Gen 2.5 issue with the bed rail caps, which seem a bit flimsy?

I’m looking for a reliable solution, even if it means shelling out a little more money for a better gasket. I want to nip this in the bud before we get to the real rainy season in the fall.

I did a search on leak in this forum and mostly came up with leaking windows

    Too many, but not enough....
The corners in the front by the bulkhead are notorious for leaking since its an uneven plane to the center bulkhead. You could run some weatherstripping on the center bulkhead and use some silicone on the edges of the bed caps. I had to do this with my diamondback. Its pretty waterproof now with the hose test I did.

The only leaking I have on my Leer is on one side of the rear door where a seal has come unglued and I'm waiting for a replacement. Do the sides of your ARE not overlap the bed sides somewhat?

The sides do overlap, though not sure about the seam along the cab. Talked to a few buddies with different canopy brands on their Tundras and the same issue, especially at the corners near the cab.

I have the ARE CX with windoors on my 21 CM and experience some leaking in the corners near the cab as well
Not terrible but bothers me alittle
Did some black urethane in between where the bed panels meet
Figured where I can clearly see daylight was a place to start
My ARE dealer (who I know very well) pre warned me about the tundra being tough to seal
I opted for the bedmat instead of full bed rug bc of this known issue
