Well today was the first day my factory head unit acted up.
Had sound but no screen lights,
Anyone have any luck with keeping all my options with a after market head unit, maybe gain a back up camera. Thank you for the help.

Two months ago I just replaced mine to get hands free, GPS and a rear view camera. If you don't want to spend the money you should be able to find a replacement factory head unit for cheap. I think I threw mine out already.

Thinking there are harnesses for most HUs to keep all functions.
Crutchfield.com is a great resource for these types of needs. Most install shops have or know what is needed as well.

Probably can't go wrong with Pioneer, Sony, Kenwood, or Alpine. Find one that fits your needs and budget.
I have a Pioneer and it works well.
The Masters Tailgate latch with camera on Amazon works great too.
Both in pics in my build below.

    Boom:

    Added backup cam
    Added front cam
    Apple CarPlay
    Android OS
Works with Factory JBL audio (don't see JBL on your old H/U - so not an issue)

Only issue I had was I had to splice 12V into ACC wire as the FCAM was still staying powered up when the truck was off.

Is that the Belsee 10.1 tilting style unit? If so how is it so far? I have a Tesla 13.1” and it would work great if I didn’t have the TRD SC flash which causes the HEadunit to turn off my ABS module for some reason, so Iv been eyeing that unit

    Dasaita Android 10.2”

The unit itself is great, like I mentioned above on my second gen (you might have this issue) it wouldn’t kill power to my front cam when the truck was off. I ended up cutting the 12V constant and wiring into the ACC wire.

But it’s fast and looks great. Even has an Apple CarPlay adapter. Really made the stock JBL audio come alive

Really glad someone did this HU cause Iv been considering it since I experienced the issue. So does the tilt make it easy to shade from the sun or direct at the driver side or passenger side?

The screen is I believe the largest available 13.1”, is don’t believe they’re would be any issue with the column shifter. The chrome fan speed remains the same and is attached to the headunit, the AC button In the center, the climate control is all touchscreen and if u touch the section at the bottom of my screen the larger climate screen appears. The Ac controls are plug n play. My heated seat dials were moved to under the HU where they include a 12v and 4 rocker openings. On newer tindras the heated/ac seats can be digitalized

You see the base where the head unit of yours go to the center council. But with mine it might go all the way down where the base of my dash. If you can measure the length of the Tesla head unit just to make sure it would fit with my setup thanks..

I got a Kenwood 874S. I wanted something with the GPS built in as there's lots of spots around here without data. I could see myself running into a dead spot wanting to find a address. Plus being last year's model it was cheaper.
