Getting a trd pro 4Runner underground color, had a deposit on a pro in Terra color they said it was the last one. Stopped in today and they just got this one in unexpectedly, so I grabbed it. Think I’ll like it better being I’m either a white or black in color choice, so the burnt orange I wasn’t totally sold on, but it was the last one they were getting at the time. Hope I like it as much as my truck, but I don’t really need a truck anymore , never towed anything with it but my small trailer. But I’ll be sticking around here and joining 4Runner forums.

Still a win in my opinion. A bit smaller compared to the Tundra but youll be happy.

    Congrats and enjoy!

I was able to keep my Tundra after getting a '23 ORP despite the wife's objections.

Thanks, I hope I am as happy with it as the tundra.never had a 4Runner, this was my second tundra.but really love the looks of the 4Runner and last of the v6. I put a lot of money in mods on the truck thanks too this sight, so I’ll be starting from scratch with the 4Runner. I would have been happy with the off road package, but couldn’t find one. They say the pro holds its value better but idk.

As I own my Tundra and a 2020 4Runner, my advice is that I highly recommend the Banks Pedal Monster for the 4Runner. It's a sluggish brick. The PM really wakes it up.

Thanks, after test driving it I felt the difference between the v8 and v6. People get the pedal monster for the tundra and I always wondered why when u could just punch the tow/ haul button, but might have to get it for the 4Runner. Wish I could keep both but I only need one vehicle.

Tow/Haul is completely different than the Pedal Monster. I have the PM on both. The 4R definitely needed it. The 4R is the wife's but I get to drive it once in a while...usually to the gas station lol.

Might be my second investment after the weather tech floor liners. Than the stereo after that. Love some thump with my music and the Jbl sound system just doesn’t provide it. Thanks to tech12volt I had the mirrors vibrating in the tundra.

Did not have luck with PM on the highway and power was reduced to the engine on a number of occasions. I disconnected it few months ago and haven't bothered to send it in for warranty/replacement. Kinda scared me at first.

    Edit: PEDAL COMMANDER NOT PM

But when it worked it was great.

And no, I’m not trying to sell the tundra here. It’s already sold. Just read my subject line and looks like I’m trying to hawk the tundra here, but no.

Sounds like you have the Bluetooth version and the voltage dropped.

Yup, Bluetooth version. Haven't really bothered looking into trying to fix it but do miss it.

Well talked myself out of it. Can’t part with my tundra, gonna pay it off and find a good used 4Runner down the road.

IMO they are two of the best vehicles you can buy.

I'd give the edge to the 4Runner on in town driving (size), off roading, build quality (Japan).

Tundra wins on power, range (38 gallon), interior room (crewmax), cargo. They both get about the same poor MPG's.

    If I didn't have a big family I might also be in a 4Runner.

Maybe a 5.7 Sequoia would be a good fit.

I got both 4runner 2022 and 2024 tundra. You'll love both either way. Both are great vehicles for different uses.

Exactly. Tiny. It's the reason why I went with the Tundra over Tacoma. Now, we are looking a truck for wife and it's either LX570 or Sequioa. Wife likes the LX better and can feel that it's a different animal.

Had a 2016 4runner and have a Tundra. 4runner was for the wife, couldn't get the kids into their car seats without hitting their heads and there wasn't really enough space, so we got rid of it. While I miss somethings, it was a true dog and the slowest car you can buy in 2024, or it has to be damn close. I don't think you would have been happy with just the 4runner after having a tundra, so good call not getting rid of the tundra imo. If you could have both, not a bad set up, but I would never get rid of my tundra for a 4runner, even if I didn't use the bed regularly.

2nd gen Sequoia with the IRS will solve that.

Our well-loved LX is a beast, too, though...

I have both, and above is true. I'll add that we find the Tundra to be a much more comfortable highway cruiser for long trips. Also, we consistently see high 19 or low 20 mpg on flat hwy in the 4R vs 17 at best in the Tundra (same route/roads).

I had a 2017 4Runner which I traded it in for my current Tundra.

Personally as great as the 4Runner is, I personally would not go back. Dealing with the size in the city and the slightly less MPG’s do not outweigh the positives…by any stretch.

I have a family of four and a small dog…we are very comfortable in my extended cab Tundra.

Honestly my wife demands we take the Tundra now. That never happened with my 4Runner or her 10 year old Highlander which is another exception vehicle that should be mentioned with the Tundra and 4Runner.

I never found the comfortable comparable (Tundra>4Runner).

The Highlander is the only vehicle that comes a little close.

I traded my 2001 Tundra in to get my 2008 4Runner. As much as I like my 4Runner, I miss the utility of having a truck. Had my Tundra been a dual cab model and not an access cab, I would have kept it.
