Google Maps

I use Google Maps within Apple Car Play on my 2020 Tundra; after tapping the mike icon, I voice my destination, and it works great, EXCEPT it does not work if I voice GPS Coordinates. What do I need to do to get a response to GPS Coordinates?

 

Are you trying English? You must talk to it in a language it understands. Try 110100101011110001010001011000101101010010100110 or 1010101011010111011100011100111100011

Guessing that voice search for coordinates isn't supported, because it's looking for a specific format for the string. You can enter it on your phone and it will update on the nav screen, but that's about the best you can do it seems.

You need a new head unit that will support it.

 

I don't think it's a head unit limitation.. It looks like Google doesn't accept coordinates via voice, from what I can find online.

 

Gotcha.

My 2019 has zero map capability, so figured it was tied to the Toyota Head Unit.

I don't use Google Maps much, aside from looking up where to get takeout.

 

Yeah his 2020 has Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, so he gets all these fancy things.
