Lighting gurus need your help with this. I scored a set of headlights for my truck as mine were hazing due to weather and sun damage. I had the headlights with the Drl led strip in the light and now have ones without. I wanted to somehow use the unused Led harness that connected to the headlights to run some grill amber lights. I am just unsure which wire on the harness runs power when the truck is on. That wire I will connect to the black wire on my amber light. Anyone have any ideas the colors on the harness are Red black and coral.

    UPDATE figured it out

Pull out a volt meter and start checking for 12v when on.

So I got everything squared away and figured out. Have everything running on the stock DRL harness. I want the lights to be amber so I will eventually either paint them with stain glass paint or a amber film of some sort. I made it pretty hidden when the lights are off it’s hard to see them tucked back in the grill.

Can you provide a pic of the mounting and wiring with hood open if it isn't asking too much. I like this look better than the Yotaleds option. Thanks!

I actually took them off and went a different direction but let me know if I can hunt something down for you from my previous photos.

I really appreciate it. My local Walmarts have them in stock for $12.88 but only in white. Did you put a film on them to make them amber and if so what did you use? Also, it is hard to tell from the pics if you doubled them up one on top of the other or that is reflection? Lastly, before I go any further down this rabbit hole, did you take them down because they malfunctioned, didn't like the look, too bright etc.? Thanks alot!

I did put a film on the just some clear orange tint tape did the trick. I wired them into RDL light harness and I took them off cause I went a different direction they work great and I may actually put them back on. I only did one i did not stack them.

    Last question:
    - your lights look like stock amber bulbs, really nice job. Do you remember the product you used to cover them with tape? Thanks again!
