    Hey everyone,
Yesterday I was on the interstate with my 08 tundra and had to slow down while going around a looped offramp... that is when a beeping alarm started, traction control light came on and flashed and I felt grinding from what I assume was the brakes (seemed like driver side front), but the braking didn't seem that extreme. I didn’t feel like I slowed down any faster than a normal exit ramp.
I’m planning to get my brakes checked this weekend, but is it normal for the traction control light to flash and beep at me? Never seen this before.

    Thanks,
    Stephen

Normal traction control, LSD function, wont slow you down, just transferring power from the wheel thats lost traction to the that does..

Yeah, sounds like traction control kicked in. It uses the brakes and sounds like something is broken. I hate that system.

Don't get your brakes looked at. What you're describing is ABS doing its job.

Interesting. I’ll ride it out then. Haven’t had it happen since anyway. I appreciate the help!

What size tires do you have? The 34s on my 05 will make contact with the frame in a hard, body roll inducing turn.

Yep 100% is VSC (Vehicle Stability Control) if you go around corners fast or have to much fun it beeps at you real loud and TCL will flash , the grinding is VSC using individual wheel braking to control the vehicle.

while Stopped press and hold the VSC button down till the left side of dash says VSC off and has a lit TCL then its all fun baby , but just be ready for the rawness and experience NasTundra

more fun is also putting into sport mode with manual shifting , just know depending on reflexes slap from 1st to 2nd @5600 rpm when heavy acceleration is applied and 2nd to 3rd @5800 rpm all of these timings will land you at 6200rpm mark ;) due to acceleration and computer think time and actual shift engagements in the trans , try to slap any higher and your going to bouncing the rev limiter in 6400 rpm range witch NasTundra doesn't like. :D
