Looking to upgrade my battery. Have the rago fab group 31 battery tray, but don’t understand the difference in these two batteries. What battery works with the battery tray?

The 31-PC2250S has threaded stainless posts. The other has standard battery posts.

For both of these batteries you will need a voltage booster to properly charge the battery.

Thanks, think I’m going for the T one. Might have to be the next project, should have ordered the battery last week so I could get it installed with the high output alternator. Unless I find something else on my road trip.

Looking around and seeing folks switching to Group 31 and 34.

Frankly not seeing much of a benefit by comparing.

I like X2Power AGM batteries and going with their 27F you get 930CCA and 92Ahs and only weighing 67 pounds.

Going to the 31 you are likely having to fork out some cash for a new battery box/mount, the Odyssey is about $150 more expensive and pretty sure that with the 31 the posts are in the middle so you’ll have to extend your cables or use something like Running4Tacos 31 battery terminals.

Only real positive gain I see is the Cold Cranking Amps. But at 930CCA you are around 100 amps above factory and it gets balls cold here and I have never had an issue.

Aside from that you are adding a lot of money and 15 pounds of weight.
So I don’t see the benefit.

I waste a lot of money on stupid things but a "expensive" battery in not one of those things. I got mine online for about $400 bucks 2 years ago and 10 dollar diode solves the charging issue!
