7BFE919F-15BA-4547-AF9B-7755AA36300E.jpg I have these wheels and was wondering if anyone here has had theirs painted/powder coated?
My truck is white and I am going for the “Storm Trooper” look. I can’t find an aftermarket wheel that I really like and was just thinking I’d put TRD Pro wheels on mine and be done. I just saw a Ram with a very similar looking wheel that was black and liked it.
What should I expect to pay to get my wheels dipped, coated, painted etc.?

Best bet is to just reach out to a local powder coat shop if you're looking to do so. Aside from that, I have the same wheels too, but meh, I'll just wait until I save enough change for some new wheels.

Your post title makes it seem like you think your wheels are steel. Those are aluminum. They were the "nice" wheels before the current TRD OffRoad wheels came along. I've got a set hiding in the shed that I'm probably going to put some Michelin Defender LTX on when spring rolls around.

That’s probably what I’m going to do. I checked on powder coating yesterday and while it’s not that expensive, I can’t have my truck sitting on blocks while I wait a few weeks to get the wheels back.

I have the same wheels as you and plasti-dipped mine. Turned out okay as a temporary solution. Looks great when they're all shined and clean. I have had them dipped for two years now and its just starting to show a little wear in some spots if you are up close. My plan is to upgrade to some actual black wheels when I need new tires but until then it certainly does the job.

I think I’m just gonna wait until somebody either makes an aftermarket wheel that I really like or I break down and get the TRD Pro wheels.
I want solid black, but can’t seem to find one that doesn’t have the fake beadlock bolts in all black and still has enough offset to keep the tire in the fender wells.
SCS or something like that makes a wheel that I like, but they’ve been sold out for what seems like months now.
3rd world problems I know.. LOL

This is the way!! Not hard to do. Can leave wheels on truck. Also comes off easy if you dont like it. One piece of advice..don't dip in cold weather. Plasti dip works better when it's warmer. Unless you have a heated garage then go for it.

I'm leaning towards the TRD pro wheels as well, the BBS forged preferably. I've been shopping around and new they are usually 2-2.5K for a set of 4. Used, they are hard to find but you can usually get a decent deal if you can find them. The SR8 Stealth Custom Series looks real nice, which may be the ones you are talking about.

same wheels as yours.... i was in the same boat.... nothing really on the market i liked in black.... picked these simulator up from hubcaphaven dot com for about $120. They just snap on..... and as far as the lugs go.... those are colorlugs easily found with google.... another $30..... so for $150 i got the look i was after for the time being until i find or figure out a more permanent solution.

Contact a wheel resurfacing company. The ones that fix curbs wheel etc.

They can most likely do wheel color changes and will do everything in your driveway.

my buddy has a hook up with one of these companies and they did my wheels two years ago and they look factory.. except gloss black.
