I'm considering upgrading my fog lights on my 14 CM. I'm torn between just replacing the bulbs with led bulbs from Headlight Revolution or putting in merimoto LEDs. Both of these options are right around $200.
I do love the Baja designs replacements but don't have the extra cash right now to throw at it.
Any input from those of you with the HR bulbs or the merimoto please chime in with pros and cons you've encountered.

Replacing with proper LED projector lenses / reflectors would likely give better focus of light and less glare than just sticking LED bulbs in a housing meant for halogens.
You should be able to find some morimotos for $100-150 if you shop around and keep your eyes open for someone selling theirs.
A 3rd and probably your best affordable option is the 2018 OEM LED fog lights. Every now and then a "used" set comes up for $200 here in the for sale threads.

If you live where it gets really cold; in the negative 20s for weeks, the HR LEDs will flake out.
Happened to me with two different sets, and I proved it to them with my own photo tests in my freezer.
Bright bulbs, and they made good on them for me. Unreliable in extreme cold though.

Advice: Save up for BD or Rigids.
I don't recommend the TRS LED projector fogs.
They only lasted 2 years on my Tacoma.
Summary: The cast metal alloy housing oxidized which flaked the powdercoat. Since the breather port is adhesived to the powdercoat, when the powdercoat fails, The housing is no longer waterproof.
My Thumb nail is on the breather patch.

I switched back to OEM housing with Morimoto HIDs.
The light output from the HID's is far superior to the LED housings.
Yes, this is frowned upon, but when i need ditch/sidewalk light coverage I use them.
Be responsible, treat them like high beams. It will be ok.

I only spent $200 on a set of new OE Toyota LED fogs. They’re nice.
