Getting ready for a major service on my 2003 Tundra 4.7L 2WD and I want to replace the radiator as part of the service. Toyota lists 2 different radiators that will work.

16410-AZ018 - Description mentions something about service and warranty repair and also uses a descriptive of MVP. Radiator is CHEAP $150.00
    PRODUCT DETAILS

    • Description: 4.7L, mvp, without double cab.

    • Notes:Warranty And Service Radiators Included With A Special Toyota Program.

16400-0F020 - this is the second compatible radiator...but it costs a whopping $330.

I've done a ton of online research and both will fit. I can't find any info on what the difference is.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Don't know physical composition differences but MVP is simply not OEM.

That answers it. Looks like the MVP part is an oem-designed substitution.

Ok - so that said... I can't afford to spend almost $350 on a radiator. Since the cheaper radiator is "designed, tested, and approved" by Toyota...that looks like the winner.

Maybe for further clarity...looks like the MVP parts are designed by Toyota...but farmed out for the manufacturing.

It's what I bought when mine went out last winter.

Its been fine. I will warn you though, at least with mine, it was packed very badly and beat to hell in when I got it. I used it anyway because it was the middle of winter and I needed the truck fixed, but if you have time, inspect yours and return it if beat up and demand it be better packed.

The built quality I feel is fine...but the way they ship them is terrible. I've bought a lot of radiators from Amazon over the years and most are very well, and elaborately packed, but this one was just thrown loose in a box by Denso with no packing and was bent in several places by the time I got it. I would have no reservations about it if it had simply been packed better.

If it were I, I would put nothing in that 2003 but OEM or the MVP even if I had to wait till I could afford it.

I edited my reply and it actually posted both the pre-edit and post-edit response...so it looks confusing.

I'm sure the Amazon Denso would work just fine...but I decided to buy the Toyota designed MVP radiator. It's only $50 more and there's peace of mind knowing that Toyota actually designed the part.

A shop put a Cryo-Max radiator in mine about 4 years ago. Working fine. Roll with your MVP and report back.

Make sure you buy a new Denso cap. $14 on internets this past summer when I bought a new one for grins. They should be replaced 3-5 years. Cheaper than pressure testing.

Caps are actually one of the very few things I go OEM on.

    Hi All,

    I'm in the same situation.

    I have a 2005, Access Cab, 4x4, automatic, SR5/TRD, with tow pkg, VIN 5TBBT44135S463029.

Websites seem to list three different choices... 16400-0F050, 16410-AZ012 AND 16410-AZ018.

Anyone know which one is correct?

    Go to www.densoautoparts.com

Plug in your truck details and look up radiators/cooling parts in their system.

There should be two options for radiators: "Without double cab" and/or "with double cab". Choose whichever applies to you.

    Order through Rock Auto - www.rockauto.com - find a 5% off coupon at www.retailmenot.com

Their price will not only usually be cheaper than scAmazon, but you'll get the part, undamaged, which is usually not the case w/scAmazon. And the part will be authentic, which is also not always the case with scAmazon.

Denso *IS* Toyota's OEM supplier for that part.

And in case it's tough, here you go.

Take that "221-..." part number and plug it, hyphen and all, into RockAuto's website. You'll find the part number you need.

    Thanks Shifty,
Looks like Summit Racing is a tad cheaper, so probably go with them.
    I appreciate the help

Summit is my preferred also. But they're also a short trip south to pick up my part in person, so I'm biased. :D
