    (SOLVED)!

anyone can recommend where to tap into to get my aftermarket switch backlight to come on and off along with the other switches. Currently using eBay aftermarket for fog lights and the backlight of the LED switch always stays on, no matter what. The market switch is circle in red

If the light is on all the time it’s wired incorrectly.

You can test the 4 wires going to one of the switches on the row above - the one that has 0v until the headlights turn on is the wire you want to tap for illumination on the new switch.

It has been several months since I've wired mine up. But if I remember correctly, I think that is the same one I tapped into. And my backlight works as it should

The tan wire is backlight but won't dim with the other switches

What do you mean? If I tap one of the tan wires to the spare wire hanging off my aftermarket switch it won’t work? It will still stay on?

It’s already illuminated, all the time. That’s the problem. I’m trying to get it to dim. Or completely disable the backlight somehow

If its always lit, then it's not wired correctly

@eddiefromcali is correct. it should cut on and off with the rest of your dash lights, but it will not be able to dim

These are your illumination leads to your dash switches.
I have no idea if your aftermarket switch will dim or be on and off with the dash lights.

In that case I’ll try the lazy man way and see if I can take the switch button itself apart and kill the LED

Here is what I did the other day for Cali Switch and Lasfit Ditch Lights if it helps:
So referencing the Ditch Lights wiring questions that I had (above)I finally figured it out this morning:
I have Lasfit ditch lights and their harness-color schemes on other lights are different color code but should be able to adapt from the below

    Cali Switch wires/Lasfit Harness wires
    Red / Yellow
    White / Black
    Black / Black
    Green / Red (fused)
Yellow / Tan wire from unused harness

The Cali Raised switch diagram on their site is incorrect as someone earlier had reported.
Works great and hope it helps someone else.

My switch is a little different. It just has 4 wires that go directly to a relay switch. Then the switch has 2 pairs of wires going to the fog lights. And one wire to the battery. You had a switch and harness to try to match the correct wires.

One of those Reds is likely the backlight. Blue js usually your remote turn on.

You can now take that red wire and tap into a tan wire from a neighboring switch.

By any chance do any of u know if there's a fuse on the passage side either in the engine bay or under the glove box that can be used for back lighting?
