    I’m stuck
Can’t get the rear rotor off. I put bolts in to back it off and it’s 90% off. Rookie I will admit, is the emergency brake holding it on from the rear? The top off the rotor will not come all the way off. I can’t see much behind it
    Any help would be great

usually....hit it with a BFH (Big Fucking Hammer)

I haven't pulled the rear's off, but if they have the drums for the park brake they can be a bit of a pain.

So got it off, think I might have messed up the parking brake, 2 random springs were in bottom of rotor when I pulled it off. Any idea where they might go. Sh!t this should have been an hour job

I think those may be from the drum parking brakes. Usually you'll want to use a flathead into that big hole on top of the rotor to adjust the parking brake. Make sure you put it back correctly so you can access the parking brake adjustment in the future.

    Yes
Two nail looking things hold the spring using pressure from the back side, just pop in and turn to hold spring
All good on quick test drive!

Rear emergency brake adjusts like drums do, it's on the rear of all toyota trucks. back off internal wheel and drum slides right off. BFH will cost you $$$$$

Hi, I have the same issue . My Rotor is 90% off but feels like something is stopping it from popping off? I had made the mistake and my parking break was also on. I have released it but still the rotor is being difficult! I am worried about damaging it and I also have found two nail like things and can see loose springs inside the rotor. Should I continue to man handle it off? and wondered how to avoid the same mistake on the other brake?

A phillips wont but a flat tip will. Like DZ said, gotta rotate the parking brake adjuster, then the hub will slide right off.

So usually a ridge forms on the inside drum part of the rotors that prevents the rotor from being fully removed. As posted above, remove the rubber plug and back off the emergency brake shoe adjuster. Then do the re- adjustment after assembly..

Can anyone help me? I'm having same issue but I can't find the parking brake adjuster .
Should I be easily finding this with a flathead?
I wish I could see what I'm looking for to help me understand what to do. I know to pull the plug and align it apparently at the bottom and insert flathead.
    Any insight is appreciated.
    Thanks.

Never had this issue when I replaced my rear rotors. Was your parking brake engaged?

    Very little so far
Telamont, watch some YT videos to see where the star wheel is located on the Tundra parking brakes and which way to rotate for loosen/tighten. The star wheel adjuster is at the bottom and offset from center. IIRC the hole in the rotor will be offset towards front of vehicle: 7 o'clock for driver side, 5 o'clock for passenger side. But a video will confirm.

When you remove your rotor, take photos of the parking brake components so that you can refer for spring placement and such.

Before you install the rotor, take note of which way the star wheel is adjusted when turned upwards or downwards on both sides. This will aid greatly to adjust them properly when you have the rotor back on.

Too many pple complain about weak parking brakes but only adjust the cable under the cab to take up slack. A properly adjusted parking brake is done within the actual brakes, not tightening cables. And will provide you a ton of confidence on a hill or boat ramp.

I just replaced my rear rotors and pads this week. I was lucky and they both popped off. But I was happy to see that there was a space where the backing plate has space that allows the rotor to be hit in the direction away from the truck.
