    need help today I shimmed my front bumper while putting the top nut back on the stud it stripped and won't tighten and with the shim there'sshims3.jpg no more thread to grab on to..., I also have a light bar bracket that mounts to this stud any suggestions on how to fix it? can I change the stud? it seems as though its part of the frame and cant replace them....don't know what to do, any input would be great pic for attention

    The stud is tack welded to the frame.

    With that said, you can cut it off and drill it out and replace it with another bolt and nut.

    It's going require you to remove the bumper so you have room to work.

    If it was me, I wouldn't worry about it, but you said you need to mount a bracket there.

    is there a way to rethread it? its just at the end where your first start the bolt...

    Yes, you can get a die to thread the bolt.
