Im in the process of selecting my new speakers. I will go with components in the front and coax in the back with two subs behind the seat, D 4.800 and RF T750X1bd to run them. Keeping HU for now.

Option 1: Hertz Cento Pro CPK 690.
Option 2: Morel Tempo Ultra 692 MK II.

The rears will be coax of the same line.

Any input on either set will be appreciated.

I have sound experience with Hertz k170’s in all four doors and love them. For the money they are Very good sounding across their spectrum.
From what I hear and know, I would lean towards the Hertz direction myself.

good luck with your choice, I’m sure it IS going to be way better then our JBL sound from the Toyota folks.

FYI, you may need a RF Mastero dsr1 module to retain head unit and dash display functions….

Thanks for your input. I will be going with the D 4.800 so no need for DSR, is this correct?

Im not exactly sure as I have a JBL Premium head unit, so for my signal correction and wheel functions I had to go with the Mastero DSR1.

Guess you are correct. Anyways a DSR-1 is needed. The D4.800 is an amp with a DSP built in. Maybe an LC 4.800 with the DSR1 might be a better fit.

Your not considering a 5 Channel Amp FirstTruck?
My JBL A5055 and the RF Mastero fit under my r/f seat in the original location as the factory.

I started with a 5 channel; alpine, kenwood, RF..., but nothing was checking all the boxes.
I will have (2) 10” P3 with 300 each plus (4) door speakers of 100 rms min on each door.
I could not find a 5 channel with 100 / 125 x 4 + 1 x 600 rms. There are some out there but either the price or the size wasnt there.

Let me know if there is one that will fit under the seat and have enough power for the speakers.

Have you looked around Taylor's Audio t/a tech12volts for a package, or started collecting components yet?
I can tell you that if your budget is within the package prices, that their recipe is proven and is a nice match that will make you smile.

To tell you the truth I have heard mixed reviews from him. I will send him an email and let you know. Also dont think he sells Audio Control, Hertz or Morel

I learned of Hertz from James
Did some research and put them in.
I’ve said it before, I hear sounds thru their range that I have not distinguished in any car audio I’ve done or heard and I’m no expert or fanatic.
I like tunes and I like some things loud and I haven’t been disappointed.
I do know that if anyone in this forum is close enough to my shop wants to take a @tech12volts test drive in my truck is always welcome. But I warn you, your gonna buy something you’ll appreciate.

But as my Italian uncle used to say
    “What do I know”
    LOL

I used this amp, which actually meets your requirements at 2 ohms. I run my front and rear components at 4ohms and my two subs at 2 ohms. Everything else I got through James at Tech12volts. It plays LOUD and I have the gains set fairly low.

    Kenwood DDX 9707S
    (2 pair) Hertz CK 165
    (2) JL Audio 10W03

Thanks for your input. Something is not adding up. The specs on that amp are 80 x 4 @ 4 ohms. How are you running the Centos at 2 ohms?

Reread my post. The components are run at 4ohms and the (2) 4 ohm SVC subs are run in parallel at 2ohms on the the 5th channel.

You don’t have to run it on the redline FirstTruck
You can bounce off of it occasionally, but it’s not necessary
There are two of us that aren’t max’d but have nice tunes.

Have heard both, have bought Morels multiple times over, if that says anything.

I know sound is a subjective thing, the Centos are great for efficiency and loudness but the Morels are just lovely.

One thing to consider, I own the Tempo 692 Ultras right now, they’re in our 4R because they won’t fit in the Tundra. The magnet is simply too large and deep.

I now have the Virtus 602s, even better than the Tempo Ultras. A bit more cash but they fit and are worth every penny.

That NVX amp is rated at 125x4 at 2ohms and 600 x1 at 2ohms. I just run my components at 4ohms for the 80 watts.

I used the Maestro RR, rTO2, sTO2 and UTO2. I couldn't tell where you are from, but if you are near Orange County, California you are welcome to take a listen.

Thanks for the input. Virtus is the way to go if you are going Morel. A little pricey for me right now.
Almost all 6x9 in this price range are between 3 1/4” and 3 1/2”. Taller or stacked adapters and spacer plus trimming of the door panel will make it. I need to triple check this before pulling the trigger but thats my plan. I would go the extra mile to have 6x9s.

FYI these fit tight…after trimming the inside of the door panel. Magnet is against the window guide. I think the Cento are only an 1/8 inch deeper?

Thank you. I gave up on the 6x9’s. I was looking for min 100W. I went with Hertz Mille MPK 165P.3 with 115W. Hope they're good. I will start a thread soon on my install. I guess I went down the rabbit deep hole.
