Just purchased a 2015 DC Tundra 4.6L 1 owner with 377k miles. $2500 in excellent condition inside and out. It came with extensive maintenance records, and has never had any major repairs. Just brakes, regular oil changes, and tires. Accident free. It drives like a new truck. Any advice in how to keep it going strong? Is 377k+ common in this gen Tundra? Thanks in advance!20210915_183214.jpg 20210915_183205.jpg

$2500??? Holy shit that’s a steal. Like literally, you sure you didn’t steal it? Or buy it stolen? Even with the miles that’s a screaming deal

You stolen it at $2500! Keep up with maintenance… At that price that truck will owe you nothing in a few years. Welcome!

Lol! Thanks guys! I actually purchased it from my work. It was one of our salesmen's fleet truck. Literally all the miles were were highway, between Fayetteville, NC and Wilmington, NC driven on a daily basis. Being I bought it from my job, is why it was so cheap! Title is clean! Lol! That, and they are taking it out of my paycheck every 2 weeks for a year, interest free! It definitely pays to kiss the fleet managers ass!

That’s a steal. That truck will serve you long! Just keep up with the oil changes and do all the other fluids.

4.7 has. The 4.6 not yet that I know of. But it’s still a solid motor. 377k in 6 years is nothing on the motor. It’s probably as clean as a 50k mile engine of the same age… less heat cycles

Another thread is keeping a tally, but I believe there have been 5 million mile Tundras.

    Two 5.7
    Two 4.7
    One 4.6

OP any shots of the interior? How did the seats hold up?

The 5.7 is just a stroked version of the 4.6L. They're basically the exact same motor and dead reliable. Lots of documented Tundras that are high mileage. Awesome to see it with that many miles. You stole that truck!!

Does the Transmission still shift well? What were the services performed and intervals for the trans?

    $2500.............

I can see that headline for online media clickbait, "During this crazy time in used car market, how one person scored the deal of the lifetime, click here to learn how he did it." or something like that

Holy crap. For $2500 it'd be a deal even IF you have to replace the engine or something. Nice catch!

Does this truck have the tow package? Just wondering if it has the factory trans cooler or just the puck

I will post interior shots tomorrow. Interior is perfect other than the driver's cloth seat. Small 2 inch separation of the stitching between the bolster and seat. Probably from hopping in and out. It does have the towing package, and the trans has had regular service (total fluid changes and filters), and has never been overhauled. Shifts like the brand new Tundras we have at my work. No slipping or hard shifts. Smooth as silk. The motor is tight and has no tapping or knocking. Oil changes were performed every 3k-5k all of its life. It seems to have just as much power as the other 4.6 Tundras we have at work with 20k miles or less, which is amazing considering the miles. Before I purchased it, it had a complete brake service on 9/2/21, with all rotors and pads replaced as well as a fresh oil and filter change. According to the truck itself, it averages 17mpg. The company I work for is well aware of it's resale value, but they take care of their employees. That is why I got it so cheap. I bought a 2014 Camry SE 2.5L from them last summer (2020) with 199k and I paid $3k for it. It now has 235k miles, and has never given us any problems or issues. It averages 26mpg, and I have a heavy foot. Again, I'll upload some interior pics tomorrow. The Tundra, btw, is a base 2015 SR 4.6L with DC, towing package, Toyota chrome tube running boards, spray-in bed liner, factory "steelie" wheels and aftermarket Thule chrome toolbox, and has cloth interior. Hope I've answered all your questions! Thanks for the warm welcome and for all the questions and input/advice. This is an AMAZING and informative forum! Seems to me Tundra owners are a helpful, passionate, informative, and knowledgeable group of truck owners! Kudos to this forum!

Congratulations ......great buy!!! Toyota makes a solid truck and if you need a halftone you can't beat the Tundra for longevity. I wish we started buying them earlier on I am just about 6 years in with no problems at all only regular maintenance. Can't say that for too of many my Rams or and Chevy trucks!!

@brandex2000 First off, congrats on the awesome truck. I wish I could land a deal like that.

Just curious, do you know what viscosity oil has been going into this truck over its life? 0w20, 5w20, 5w30?

If you happen to know the specific oil that would be great info as well, but I'm mainly interested in the viscosity. Thanks!

Also, I am not trying to start an oil debate, just curious to hear about this one particular truck.

I have only had it for 3 days, and the fleet manager that handles the vehicles told me that he always had whatever weight oil was recommended by Toyota used at every oil change. So, it would've been 0w20. He also always used standard oil, and not synthetic along with Toyota oil filters. Oil and filter was changed between 3k-5k miles all of its life according to the maintenance records. To be totally honest, if I didn't know it had 377k, and was told it had 20k, I would totally believe it. It drives like a new truck. Steering and suspension are very tight, the engine is very smooth, strong, and responsive, and never hesitates. It starts as soon as the key is turned without hesitation. It is truly an unbelievable vehicle! Oh, yeah. It has also ALWAYS ran on 87 octane, too. Hope this answers your question!

As promised, here are a few shots of the interior. Keep in mind, that I have not had a chance to clean her up yet! The seats need a good shampooing. The carpet and mats are in excellent shape, as are the dash and instruments. No dash or interior lights are out, and literally EVERYTHING works! AC is ICE COLD, all 4 electric windows work flawlessly, cruise control, all radio and hands free features, high and low beams, alarm system, EVERYTHING works! My ONLY complaint is that the tire pressure sensor light constantly stays illuminated. All 4 tires are set at 35lbs, so I'm guessing one or more of the sensors is bad. No biggie. Otherwise, the truck is damn solid. Also, I apologize for the night photos. I didn't get home from work this evening until around 8pm EST.

Lol! Hell, yeah! Have been a GNR fan since the late 80's! Actually skipped school back in 1992 the day the 2 Use Your Illusion CD's were released so I could go to The Record Bar and stand in line to get one of the 1st copies! They have been in my music rotation in one form or another ever since! Estranged is truly a masterpiece! Loved the music video as well! Back in high school, I actually bought the t-shirt that Axl wore in the video with Charles Manson on the front, and "Charlie Don't Surf" on the back! The original shirt, made by Zooport Riot Gear, is worth THOUSANDS now! Guns were definitely my shit back in the day! Good eye, btw!
