    Hi,

I'm looking for recommendations on a hitch step.

So far I like the Bully Bar with the lights or the Smittybilt beaver step, pics below.

What do you have? Any input would be appreciated.
    TIA

Is the one without the lights Smittybilt? that one is sharp, I may get that for myself.

I really like how the bullybar looks. I am not a fan of the quality however.

The glue on mine started coming off and the light began dangling.

I’ve also seen where they rust out - not min but on other trucks

I have the smittybuilt. It came a little to glossy for my liking couple of coats of bed liner spray and it was good to go.

Some of the reviews said it was loose in the receiver. Was this a problem with yours?

I have the Smitty as well. It is a little loose but not terrible. I usually only put mine in this time of year, not for a step but to hopefully protect my rear end. People here are lousy winter weather drivers, so if i get bumped, with any luck I'll do more damage than they do ;)

I take mine off and only run my trailer hitch for the same exact reason

I added the Smittybilt yesterday and the fitting is a little sloppy. What have you guys done to get a better fit in the hitch?

I parked my truck at the very front, close to a foot over the red line and this car behind me pulled up fast enough and got a little too close to my truck:muscleflexing:. Of course they didn't leave a note. A few people witnessed it and were kind enough to let me know that my truck was hit.

I sprayed my smittybilt with bed liner from a rattle can and took most of the play out.

Yes it was, I do like it though. Put some spray on bed liner or rubberized electrical tape to make it a little bit bigger and it is GTG. Mostly use it to keep people from bumping the back of the truck.

If it is for protection, then Monster Hook works well. It's pretty hefty. (I already have a bed step, so I don't need another step)

These are great for protection as stated but useless once the tailgate is flipped down?
