Good morning Tundra Nation!! Has anyone else bought and installed this (pictures below) Hooke Road bumper? I'm looking for ideas to cover the bracket between the bumper and fender well to "finish" the look. As you can see in the pictures, it doesn't wrap around all the way to the fender well, even though the Hooke Road website advertises it as a FULL WIDTH bumper. It's quite a big eye sore, considering I love the look of the bumper itself. Any ideas are welcomed and encouraged!

    Some.
Might need to grab some steel plate and modify it.

I was thinking that, but was hoping I didn't have to grind off the powder coat to weld :facepalm:Unfortunately, unless one of the other Tundra gurus comes up with a better idea, that may be my only option. :frusty:

Just from a casual glance, it looks like the bumper needs to be moved back some, and down to get under the fenders and grill...

Maybe a bracket is installed incorrectly? Just spit balling, no offense

Agree with above… in your pictures the bumper looks like it’s sitting too high. I bet if it’s lower and pushed back more it will cover that gap

No offense taken at all. You are correct, the stock picture shows it all the way back, but without a winch. Unfortunately, with the winch installed it's as far back and down as it can go. The winch barely fits inside the bumper. As a matter of fact, the bumper is literally resting on the top of the control box.

Looking at some of the bumpers on their site, it appears that it is supposed to be that way. That is a shitty design on their part.

I absolutely agree!! It's a very shitty design, and it's very deceptive because they don't show it with a winch installed.....which is what creates the gap.

That is definitely an option, but I really like the look of the actual bumper :frusty:

Call em back, see if an exchange is appropriate… do you use the winch enough to justify the look?

It doesn't appear that the bracket offers any structural integrity, so could I just use my cutting wheel and cut it off? It seems it's only there to help secure the factory plastic bumper, that a deer cracked.

I've tried emailing them several times, and they haven't replied to a single email. They also have shut down their customer service phone number, because of Covid. I actually do use the winch, because I'm always on the mountain trails around my house, and usually alone since it's just me and my German Shepherd here.

It is a design issue that they have over most of their line of products. Tacoma bumpers are the same. Their steel roof racks have fitment issues also from what I've read.

I had to remove and relocate the winch control box box for mine to fit properly. Mine was the older Hooke Road style that fit below the factory bumper plastic top. Since yours replaces that plastic piece it should have even more room. You probably should relocate your control box......

Wow; that's unfortunate, but lesson learned! That's the last product I'll order from them, which is a shame because I wanted to get the matching rear bumper. But now I'm afraid I'll have the same problems with it.

Mine came with a bracket that I can only assume it was meant for. I got the set of front and rear bumpers with 6 lights included and this piece didn't seem to go anywhere. If you don't have a piece that looks like that I'm sure you could find something similar at any hardware store.

Yes, I do have that bracket, but like you couldn't figure out what it was for. I'll try that or try to mount it on this bracket

Did you have any issues with the rear bumper fitment? It's the same rear bumper for both of ours.

The rear bumper "looks" low and shows the gap below the tailgate but it cannot get raised any higher because the corner tips already touch the tailgate when its' down.

Curious if you have relocated the control box yet. I was looking at getting the set of bumpers but not stoked about that gap.

Hey neighbor! I haven't yet. I am hoping to get it done this weekend. I'll let you know, and send pictures once I get it relocated.

Having similar issue with the hooke bumper on my tundra 2010. anyone have any luck with their customer support getting answers? wondering why they wouldnn't fix this since all trucks 07 to 12 would experience the same alignment.

also the shield that came with it for the underside doesn't align with the mount and bumper holes.
