How bad will 315/70/R17 sized tires rub on stock 4wd suspension???

Truck is a 2011 Tundra, 4wd, SR5 double cab. Suspension stock as a rock, bought some TRD "Rock Warrior" 17" wheels for CHEAP off craigslist. Love the look of that wheel, love the look of the BFGoodrich All Terrain KO/2 tires, talked to several people who love that tire. New tires are going to be $1000-1200 when its all said and done.

Well what do you know, the Ford Raptor stock tire size is 315/70/R17, BF Goodrich All Terrains stock. Would fit on my 17" Rock Warrior wheels no problem. That is a good bit wider/taller than the 285/70/R17 Rock Warrior sized stock tire though.

My thinking is the Raptor is the ultimate bling out lifted status truck, ie lots of these are bought new and lifted. Stock wheels/tires are taken off with no miles.

Trying to save a buck here, what do you think about running BF Goodrich 315/70/R17 sized tires off a new Raptor on a stock 2011 4wd Tundra???? Good idea??? I know it would look pretty boss but worried about how much this setup would rub??? I'm okay if it rubs a bit at full lock in a parking lot, not okay if it rubs all the time and requires a bunch of suspension mods or the frame chop mod.

I think if you make this work in stock suspension then you'll be the first I've heard about making it work. Minimum you'll need to push bumper forward and trim the plastic fenders

You'll have to cycle the suspension and cut various components until there's no more interference. Lifting on its own (unless you gimp travel) doesn't really let you fit a larger tire as the bigger tire has to go somewhere as it travels. The Tundra wheel wells are large enough to fit a 35" tire; in my case I run a LT285/75R18 on stock 18x8" wheels (+60mm offset) and have no problems. The Rock Warrior wheel has a slightly more aggressive offset (+50mm) but I doubt that is enough to let you run a tire that is 315mm wide without some cutting. The more narrow you can keep the tire the easier it will be to fit. Kenda Tires makes a 35/10.517LT that would work for you with fewer modifications.

Never heard of "Kendra" and that tire size is totally greek to me. What is it in terms of "width/aspect ratio/rim size", aka normal tire size specs . . .

Not sure if I posted this picture correct but the tire is basically a 35x12.50R17 per tiresize.com

The specific tire I mentioned is about 255mm wide. It's worth looking at a few more options with how much tires go for.

I’ve read of a dude who fit 35 12.50s on a stock tundra with rock warriors. Just trimmed the skid plate.

Fair point. I'll never know because I only drove on the street for like a month before I ditched them for 37s. I was damn close to the body mount on those 35s. It was fine for street driving. Probably would have been fine going slow off-road. May have hit the pinch weld.

    Would 35x12.5 on 20s fit with a -19 offset??

Where are you seeing all of these new take off BFG’s? I’d love to get my hands on a set if people are letting them go for cheap!

I will be buying tires in a few months and was wondering if anyone here runs a slightly narrower tire on their Tundras?

    I run a 275/65/20.
    It’s a 34x11.50.
They’re a little narrow compared to the size of the truck. Ideally I’d like a 285 but it still looks great just how it is.
