How can I update factory Nav or get Waze on my truck screen?

I would like to either update my built in Nav or get Waze on my screen.

Last evening I downloaded Map Update toolbox but on startup it kept saying insert SD card like it didn't recognize the card from my truck. The current card in the truck works but I am sure it is out of date. Also how can I even find out what the latest map is. There are cards available for sale on different sites but most reviews say they are older too

My phone can play music on my truck wireless, but if I cannot view Waze or maps from my phone apps on the truck screen. Is there a way to get Android Auto or link my phone apps to the truck
