My truck has had the radiator replaced my previous owner and it also has another radiator in front of the main one the exact same dimensions that looks to be a trans cooler. I'm in the process of ordering a new steering rack and am gonna replace the pressure and return lines as well as the reservoir.

The pressure and return lines look to be different for tow package vs non tow package and I'm unsure what I've got.

Can upload pics if it helps.

You could start by going over here, find the "Vehicle One-line Description" box, and put in your:
    • Year
    • Cab type (AC, DC, or RC for access, double, regular)
    • Engine (V6 or V8)
    • Drivetrain (2WD or 4WD)
    • Trim (SR5, Limited)
    Example: 2004 AC V8/4WD SR5

This way we don't need to ask you every time you post, "Hey what year, cab type, engine and drivetrain you running?", and we can save you some time, and give you tailored advice, since shit differs from truck to truck. Not putting that info in your profile WILL lead to you getting bad advice, it's just a matter of time. Do yourself a favor, and update that box so we look to the left of every reply you make and see your truck info.

Generally speaking, the Toyota Owners site should allow you (if non-Canadian) to look at your truck's build sheet. What is this "Toyota Owners" site, you may ask? Well, read this thread and learn, newbie: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

Beyond that, if you have an OEM 7-wire receptacle mounted under the bumper, and non-aftermarket tow hitch, those would be good signs as well. Earlier years had a 8~10awg red wire hanging off the battery goign to the rear for tow, later years didn't.

I think you can tell by the color of the fan clutch spool. I think it is orange if you have the towing package. What year is your truck?

    Two questions:
    1. Do you have a random-looking red wire hanging off your battery that dips down, maybe under the brake master cylinder, to the rear of the truck?
    2. Do you have the OEM 7-pin towing receptacle (left circle) on the rear of your truck, along with the OEM tow receiver (center, i.e. it has no labels on it like "CURT" or similar)?

I have a 4pin connector and what look to be the bracket for the 7 pin. Have a hitch and looks like no red wire.

Aftermarket hitch, no tow wiring connector. No power lead that's typical on earlier years. I'm thinking yours didnt' come with tow.

Could be interesting to trace the 4-pin wiring back a ways to see how it's spliced in, since those splices can be a big trouble point at some point.

Yeah. That receiver is definitely aftermarket. Just looked at mine and there is more gusseting on the OEM receiver. Different safety chain loops also. Not sure why the difference. Is it because of the TRD package that they didn't provide a receiver and wiring? @shifty`

Looking at the trucks new on the dealers lots, there was never any rhyme or reason as to which trucks had tow package vs not.

I remember a row of 15 or 20 SR5 2WD with steel wheels, and they all had the tow package. Then skip over to the higher $ trucks, and maybe half of them had it. The dealers, at least here where Southeast Toyota controls things, are at the mercy of how SET ordered trucks. There may be a grain of truth to base models having tow package in order to increase the sticker price slightly.

I think 2003 was the first year that the tundra’s wire harness came with a dedicated break out harness for a plug n play brake controller. The empty plug is located behind the driver’s lower kick panel...which is all useless dribble as to what power steering hose to buy.

Not sure why someone hasn't mentioned this, but all trucks with the factory tow hitch should have the small add-on fuse box directly behind (or semi attached on the rear corner closest to the engine) to the factory fuse box inside the engine compartment.

Anyways, just call up a Toyota dealer with your VIN and they can tell you in 30 seconds or less.

Looks like it's without the tow package based on several things and I believe there would be a power steering cooling loop that would be in front of the radiator. I'll check the vin as well.

    Thank you
