My steering column is driving me nuts. It clicks/ticks incessantly when the wheel moves up and down from my hand, or bumps. The sound is coming from somewhere inside the telescoping arm assembly. I've take as much apart as I could, and even had the dealer do the same for a couple of hours. In the end they said there isn't much "serviceable" in there and I would need a new column to fix it. They quoted $1500 for the job.

Anyone have a sense for how difficult it is to replace the column?

    None....
If a dealer is willing to do it for 1,000 labor it must be pretty easy.

I've has chevy dealers put in new intermediate steering assembly in a couple of hours. It had a clunk.

I almost wonder it a bolt is loose or a bracket is broke. With the sound of your video
