How lock doors with engine running

Is it possible to leave truck running and lock doors . It’s real hot and I leave a dog in truck sometimes and don’t want to leave truck unlocked .

 

Have to pull the key out and manually lock/unlock the door

This works. Just remove the key from the fob and manually lock/unlock.

 

I do it all the time when warming up vehicle. The depressing part is you have to utilize two keys all the time and that's twice the risk of losing a set.

 

I don't understand why you need to utilize 2 keys. I only use 1 key. After manually locking the door, I walk away with the key and fob in my pocket. The truck will run for an hour without the fob.

 

I have 2010 work package, new generation gang wouldn't understand.

 

I wonder if hitting the door lock button on the door would work after you’ve already opened the door? I’d go try it real quick but I’m at work.

 

If engine is running it will automatically unlock right away, unless doors are all closed.

On our old Honda, we would pull the door handle (inside the vehicle) to open while simultaneously hitting the lock button and it would lock the door.

Once you start the truck normally using the fob, you are not able to use the app for safety reasons.

 

Shut down the truck after turning on AC , walk out, start with remote start on app?

 

It is incredibly stupid that you can't leave the truck running and lock it with the key fob as you walk away. I did that all the time with my F-350. What exactly is the logic behind making it difficult to lock the truck while running when the key is not inside?
