How many owners manuals did you get?

3rd Gen Owners- How many and what owners manuals did you get?

I didn’t get any at first, and salesman tried to steer me to the app and .pdf.

I pressed and he said he had them. I drove an hour to get them but I only got three. I’m missing the long version, circled in yellow in first picture.

Did you all get four?

 

You purchase new? I got all of those when I got my truck. Sealed in plastic wrap.

How about valet key, did it have a sheath?

 

Yeah, nobody has been getting 2 key fobs on delivery, just the second physical key like you have. I bought mine in March and "Supposedly" will have my second fob end of June/early July.

 

Yeaaah, I realize, but don’t understand why, the fob delays. Deep sigh.

 

They're still having chip shortages, but yeah, it's kinda lame.

 

Same ... keeping them in an old Nissan Titan case I had. Toyota really cheaped out on that imo, as the 16 I traded in, had a nice leather case. Sure the digital will win out and future vehicles will no longer have physical manuals. Get a new Tundra now to have one of the last standing relics. Going to be smiling in 2050 for two reasons ..solid 24 built in 23 with over 400k and no issues and a proven best gen (3rd) after Toyota consolidates the Tacoma and Tundra back into just one Toyota Truck. Missed my chance to own new in late 80's early 90's so this current pro is my back to the future !

 

Actually, and I guess I’m the exception, but I did get two full smartkeys. I got mine in Oct of 22. But I guess most folks just getting one key these days. I just received the “credit card key” and LOVE IT. (I had to order/pay for it)

 

I received the following:
1. Quick Reference Guide
2. Owner's Manual (Short Version)
3. Owner's Warranty Rights Notification
4. Warranty Maintenance Guide

One of the port installed options on the vehicle is a Toyota Integrated Dashcam. My manuals included a very abbreviated Quick Start Guide for it; it was sooo abbreviated that it only referenced the procedures for operations, but didn't give details. Took an internet search to find the actual Integrated Dashcam Operating Manual.

Also found online a Multimedia Owner's Manual that helped me understand that system.

I am still searching the internet for the Owner's Manual Long Version that you show in the picture--and that is referenced in the Short Version. If anyone has a digital version, please post a link; I'd like to have a copy for reference and files. TIA

I think it’s in the Toyota app->truck->glovebox->manuals (the top one)

 

But you can buy as many as you want at the parts counter….

 

I think your dealer just didn't want to get them for you. I received all 5 shown in your original picture with my '24.

I haven't even looked at any of them. Don't know how many I got yet. They help set up everything.

 

I got mine in June 2023 with one fob and 3 manuals below. I got the second fob in December.

 

I had one fob in glove box in an envelope. They handed me other one. So, I got two when bought truck.

 

I didn’t get the long (full) version with my ‘24. I downloaded it, but it’s kind of maddening to try to read all that on your phone. I missed a lot of details because of that.

 

Do you have the part number for the key cards you got? Also how much did the dealer charge to program it?

 

I did not get the long version with my 2024.

 

I got them all.......doubt I will ever open one. Google is way faster

 

Yes, hard to read on the phone.

I spend a ton of time in places with no cell service.

There seems to be a mixed bag for 2024’s. I called Toyota and they said all four are allocated to the vehicle upon shipping. It would be easy for anyone along the way to take the allocation and sell them on eBay or put in stock or whatever.

Mine came in a nice case with a Velcro flap. Really nice set up.

What part number did you use to get this credit card key?

 

Two parts required:
Key “fob”
Key blank. (Part that sticks into lock if battery dies in key fob)

key fob, see pictures. Got mine off of eBay. $135. Dealer hit me with $159 to program. So..not cheap.

key blank (must be cut):
Key, Master: Part Number: 69515-12350
I paid $46 from dealer and still have not got it cut.

used to be full thread on this from Ryan Gregg but I think it got deleted.

 

Is there anything special they will need to do to program this? I don’t see anywhere that it is specifically for the tundra. I know at one time the 2nd gen tundra could use a card key but it had to be put in as an LX570.

 

Well, the dealer will need to do it (local locksmith said he could not do it on the newer Toyotas, 'cause of the PIN - I tried) but nothing special. I have done it on my 2022 Tundra. These keys are not specifically for the Tundra, I think you can get them with the new Tacoma as part of a premium package (and Lexus has used them for years, as you noted). Regardless, they work flawlessly. My dealer's service manager did raise an eyebrow when I handed him the key (that I happened to get off of eBay) but he said he would try. Came back out with a big smile. The original thread had much more info -- too bad it's gone. I feel like we are hijacking this thread.
