Good morning folks. I have a 2007 Tundra Doublecab Limited 4X4. A local Toyota dealership ordered and installed a TRD supercharger back in 2013 when the truck had 60,000 miles. The cost for parts and labor was about $6,500. It now has 155,000 miles.Left Front.jpg Photo 19.jpg I am having trouble coming up with comparable vehicles so that we can agree on an actual cash value for the vehicle. So, my question is.... how much does the supercharger add or subtract from the vehicle's value?

i'd say it's in the eye of the beholder - I'd personally apply a 40% depreciation on the cost of the upgrade and add that to the FMV of the truck (if you're trying to move it in "a hurry") - M2C

Damn, the supercharger alone now is $7500! Labor likely another $3000 on top!

I mean honestly it’s important to you but not them. It’s easier for them to sell a stock truck. Couple grand if you’re lucky would be my guess.

Labor was $540 for the install back then. Less than the taxes on the total. Let that sink in. The government made more on that deal than the dealer.

If you’re trading it in, any mods mean nothing to a dealership. But once it’s traded, they’ll add $10k and put it out front.

Half of the original cost plus what ever the truck is worth?? I have never held that the additions are not worth anything but then all my add ons have been OEM and nothing wild or crazy. Put a price on it and stick with it, either you sell it or don’t? Someone will want it but it has just at ten years on it so you have to take that into consideration.

Tack on 3500 if everything on the Supercharger is in good shape???? Good luck.

Exactly this. A dealer won't give you anything extra on the trade in but probably knock some of the price off the new truck.

For private sale, just mark up the value whatever you think is fair and make sure to advertise it has a dealer installed supercharger and I'm sure you'll catch eyes.

Whatever the KBB and/or fair market value of the truck is (whichever is higher) plus 1/2 the value of the SC.

I'm with the "It depends on whether the buyer wants it" camp. A dealer won't care.

A supercharger with 95,000 miles on it likely needs a rebuild, no? Will likely scare some buyers away (most), but attract others. The ones that are interested in the SC are your target. Second thought, someone with a same year range as yours that wants a SC could swap stock parts from theirs to yours and give you some $$ and make both of you happy.

I have had the truck serviced at the local dealer and they have hit me up for about every add on service. It is just as fast as it was when the blower was brand new. Not once have they mentioned that the supercharger needed service. Toyota recommends 100,000 mile oil change on it, so it is getting close. Kenne Bell has hours of reading material on superchargers. I have not found documentation that recommends a rebuild after so many miles. https://kennebell.net/tech/supercharger-tech/ They mostly talk about their own products but mention some about roots style blowers too.

rotor pack bearings will need to be changed at some point. They'll start getting louder and kinda obvious when they're grinding

It adds nothing at a dealer. Book value is what it is. Modifications dont matter. Banks dont finance added value for mods either.
Private party i'd say add it depends on buyer. Could reduce or add for certain buyers. I'd say -2k to +5k versus book value of truck.
