What are signs that a fuel pump should be replaced? Not sure if the one on my truck has ever been replaced. If it ever fails, does it cause a CEL or driveability issues?

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank and it does not have a service interval. You just change it when it goes out.

When it fails your truck won't run and it produces no codes before or after it fails. A pump may be bad even though the pump still runs if its too weak to create enough pressure for the injectors.

I would only change it early if I already had to remove the gas tank for some reason.

Mine went out at about 185k miles.
