    So.......

I'm currently searching for my next truck, what im after is a Regular Cab, short bed(6'5"), 5.7 (maybe 4.7) 4 wheel drive tundra. Only problem is after a quick search i found one within 300 miles of me. (CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA)

Was there really only a few made, or did they rust out by now?

    This my current vehicle

Pretty rare from what I read. They didn't make many. We had a member here that was real knowledgeable about the regular cabs and I remember him saying he thought they only made a few thousand each year and only for a few years.

^^^ well that price is outrageous.

I found one 250 miles from me im calling about tomorrow. 2010 reg cab short bed 4wd 5.7, $13500. From The pictures of the frame it look solid but its in the upper north east(so who knows). But the fenders, besides, and tail gate are beat, its got some crazy topper... but its a start.

That looks nice, but yeah probably more than MSRP back then, and 1 owner and still owes on a 2010 seems odd. There was a sharp one in the classified section recently for around 20k but sold after a few months. I would live to find one but rare and expensive basically more than a comparable double cab now

    ^^^. Very true.

I'm looking for a "driving project" so as long as it's starts, idles ok, gets up to 50 mph, brakes, and the frame isnt shot. I wanna build a daily runner, 35s or 37s, no lift, 10" travel, bed cage......

I waited and searched for a few years in my state and never had any luck. I ended up buying mine in Idaho, sight unseen and storing it at a family members house, then waited 6 months to get it home after that.
I lucked out and got a great RCSB, zero rust

And from what I learned when I was looking, they don't stay on the market long. If you find one you're interested in, put a deposit on it.

I don't see them very often...if ever. I see Regular Cab Long Beds every once in a blue moon. Anyway, I'm from Central Pennsylvania, so if you need someone to help store/procure it, I'd be happy to help!

I've been thinking of selling mine, it has rust though.

As far as your question goes, besides being extremely low production compared to double cabs and crewmaxes; some people have said they were only available in certain states. Just have to scour the internet often.

The thing is that while you consider them Rare they are just ones that did not sell to Toyota.

If they had sold well there would be a lot more of them but since they did not sell well enough they vanished from the line of trucks never to be seen again.

I prefer if a Truck resembles its roots somewhat and those are single cabs but clearly I am in a tiny minority there.

So yeah if you do find one it has decent chances of having rust and also be priced insanely like some of the ones we see for sale but they are out there among us too for decent prices if you are willing to be patient and search until you find what you want.

I wanted a Long Bed Regular Cab and after a long search found mine for an amazing price to me but the reality might also be that no one else wanted the dinosaur that I wanted so badly too!

It is what it is,and less.

"The Unicorn"? I thought I read once that only 6000 were made and only in 2ish years?
